She is really funny and caring. Sticks to her expectations, doesn't accept excuses. Don't be late for class on a quiz day. There are lots of class discussions that are really engaging.

She is very sweet. However, I felt like I could never get anything higher than a high B, which was quite frustrating. Even the journal entries, which is supposed to be opinion based anyhow, were always given high B's. I felt like that was her go-to grade no matter what. In any case, she is pretty easy (lots of busy work) and interesting lectures.

Not hard if you keep up with the readings and go to class, and participate. Reading quizzes and papers not difficult but time consuming. Fair grading, actually does do a good job of "engaged learning". All in all not too bad, def learned a lot. I would take another class with her.

Every class goes like this... she sits down hands you an easy quiz then she opens up the book and reads the book out loud to you. It is so boring but you can usually get her off topic. Then she finds a power point online and shows it. She picks favorites but grading is really easy. Easy A, just don't be late for class.

I loved Dr. Slate's class. She made sure everyone understood what she wanted, was fair in grading, and maintained a good rapport with students. Granted, you do have to do your work to earn your grades, but A's are not unattainable. I highly recommend her to anyone, reguardless of the course she teaches.
