Took this class during summer 2020, he was super understanding about it not being a normal semester. He accepted all late work for full credit no matter how late, everything you submitted, you got 100% just for doing it. Super writing heavy though. The entire class is just writing summaries to prove that you read the material and it gets monotonous

He makes you purchase his own book and most assignments basically end with you quoting your prof to stroke his ego. I tried for 2 weeks to contact him for help with assignments, but he didn't respond until I started failing his class. Told me to submit any missed papers but he didn't grade any of them. Avoid this prof if you can.

Be prepared to write tons of papers for simple assignments for so little points discussion posts are worth .25 pts 6 page learning reports are worth 4 pts a 10 pg book review worth 7 pts. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Even though this is an internship seminar, for your INTERNSHIP. He makes you buy his book. This class is required for AFC majors so its honestly unavoidable. You write papers that have nothing to do with your internship but everything to do with his book. On the bright side everything is due at the end of the week. He is unhelpful, and stubborn.

Be prepared to work for all your assignments and grades. You will spend up to 7 to 10 hours doing homework. Homework does include watching videos, website assignments, and learning assignments. The grading scale seems off because papers can only be worth 1 point for 3 pages worth of writing. But overall, the course was insightful and informative.

do NOT take this class. please for the love of god dont take it. the grading system is ridiculous where most assignments are worth 1-4 points, but each point is 1% of your final grade. I have probably written 150 pages for this class just this semester, which was the BARE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. DO NOT TAKE

Seems like a ton of work. But the material is easy to read and as long as you meet the page requirements you'll get full credit. Exams aren't difficult. 80% of the questions are common sense, usually with the all of the above being the correct answer. Expect to spend 3-5 hours a week total on homework and reading.

Grades pretty harsh. Class is unorganized with no real structure. You barely take notes. He is not helpful at all if you need help. He doesnt keep you updated on your grades at all.

I took this online course for a general education credit, I highly recommend you DO NOT take this course online with this prof! He is terrible. Papers ranging from 1-5 pages, and we have to watch documentaries usually 2-3 hrs long. Terrible prof, terrible feedback, hard grader, and heavy homework & not helpful if you don't understand.

Comment:
The internship course is too much. He does not help you obtain an internship but requires a bunch of written work that is required. The textbook is written by him and he doesn't offer it on the college library database. The amount of papers that someone has to write for this course is more then any other course I've taken at EMU.

Lots of papers but easy to get A if you meet length requirement. I don't think he actually reads the papers. Course material and lectures do not appear to have been updated in years. It's a shame because this could be a good course if the instructor put some effort into it.

This professor is unrealistic with his expectations of a student who may esp. be a full-time student. TREMENOUS amount of reading and writing! Requires books that are not used during the semester and a completely useless book of powerpoint notes that are typed in broken sentences. One of the books you can rent or requst a local or school library 4

Dr. Okafor is kind of crazy. You have to understand that he is Nigerian and his view of the world is slightly different than the average student. Took this on-line. Wrote 3-8 pages per week that summarized texts. Books ARE expensive IF you buy them. Utilize the library but do buy the course-pack. Just meet the page requirement and you will get 100%

Alot of reading and writing. Always beware when a professor asks you two buy two of his (extremely expensive) books and write a fifteen page term paper on one of them. If you have an issue with grading or time, do not take his course; he is very strict. Also, the curriculum is the same every semester; no creativity, just read and write...

Took this online. Awful class. Teaches history with an ENORMOUS BIAS, which is incredibly annoying. Oh and he required a $30 course pack that I haven't opened because you don't need it, it just has a hard copy of everything that is already posted online. The book he wrote was $90 and it poorly written, it's just for his own profit. AVOID.

Took it online. Must do a paper or more per week, but as long as you do it you get full credit. Only 2 small quizzes which were pretty straightforward. Final was a 6 page reflective essay which if you completed you get full credit. PROBLEM- books cost $450! And he wrote 2 of them! Such crap!!!!!!!!!!
