Comment:
Oneida Language is extremely difficult, and the way the class is taught makes it very, very hard to actually learn anything besides pronunciation. He does not teach much vocab or easy words, but focuses instead solely on how to pronounce and decode words using an online dictionary. He is an easy grader, but I barely learned a thing in that class.

Comment:
Had him for a number of classes. The worst I could say about him is he is unusual. He pays close attention to his students. Video tapes them to learn their names. Last class I took with him was Oneida Language. Excellent class! Take it if you can. He often co-teaches with Tim Meyer and Phil Clampitt. Definately better than either of them!

Jointly taught with Colleen Fitzpatrick. Abbott knows what he is talking about, but doesn't do much to make it interesting.

a good guy; very interesting if you listen closely -- not for slackers; learns everyone's name by the end of the first week; willing to answer questions outside of class

for someone who supposedly knows so much about communicating effectively, he sure is BORING. Professors like him are why acedamia are nothing but old men wanking to each other's trivial BS
