Her handwriting is bad so you cant read it and she lectures with her eyes closed so she wont call on you if you have a question. She gives lots of modules. She also makes you teach yourself from the and puts stuff on exams from the book so basically its an exam where you know it or you dont.

Very tough professor, a lot of reading, and the she talks all the way til the end of class. She's also a tough grader, not an understanding professor, and very rude. The textbook is mandatory because the assignments are based of the textbook. Will fail the class if you don't read the readings.

Comment:
I strongly advise against taking PSYC 495 (Internship in Psychology) with Dr. Prehar. She makes class mandatory (only one absence allowed), but the lectures themselves are not interesting or helpful for upper level students. Not clear with instructions/expectations, complains constantly, never posts grades, and send about 6 e-mails a day. Horrible.

I strongly advice against taking ANY class with Dr Prehar. Class expectations are extremeley unclear, and grading criteria is modified constantly in the semester. Often, students were given little time to complete an assignment announced at the last minute. She is not accessable and her long and incoherant emails add to the frustration.

Dr. Prehar cancelled class very often making us have to learn most of the material ourselves and the textbook was not easy. She has very long tests and the textbook is not very helpful. About a eight students in my class dropped it by midterm. Lots lectures, make sure you take detailed notes or else you'll fail the tests,

Dr. Prehar is an intelligent woman and is good at what she does. She does her best to make class interesting, fun, and knowledgeable at the same time. My favorite part of the course was that she would connect real life events from her life to the specific topics we are talking about which makes learning a lot easier. Definitely recommend.

Dr. Prehar is a very nice and caring professor. But the class is not easy by any means. Going into the class, I thought it would be a simple (show up to class and you pass) but boy I was mistaken. I'm not ranking her down in any way but there's just so much getting covered in so little of a time period.

Her lectures were extremely helpful in learning the topics. She provided lots of examples and mnemonics as well as videos. She also gave quite a few opportunities for extra credit.

Dr. Prehar is a great professor. She is a hard professor but she will make sure you learn all the information necessary at the end of the course. It may have been one of the hardest and had the most work but it was totally worth it because of how much usable information you learn. I highly recommend.

Dr. Prehar will force you to learn, but it is not fun by any means. Her class is structured so that it goes her way and her way only. If you don't like being treated like your in high school, don't take this class.

I love Dr. P, she is such a great professor. She's always very clear about course content and very organized. She's a tough grader but as long as you go to class, pay attention, take notes, and study you'll do fine. Always willing to help students too. She made RM1 intersting

I personally don't like her. The online quizzes stink, and they are really hard to pass. When you ask her for help, she doesn't provide it for you all of the time, and her tests have stuff that was not covered in lecture on the test. So there is a lot of reading involved. This class was not my favorite teaching style whatsoever.

Dr. Prehar is a great teacher and had some interesting, but good tactics to her teaching. She makes cookies before each test! And they're fantastic!

Dr. Prehar is one of the best professors I've ever had. The idea of taking this class made me panic; I thought I hated research. It turned out to be one of my favorite classes that semester. She breaks everything down so it's easy to follow and is very engaging. Show up, take notes and do the work, and you'll do just fine. Great prep for RMII.

I took Psychology of Careers with Dr. Prehar, and it was very helpful. Take this class if you want to learn more about your career interest, how to write a resume & cover letter, or how to craft a personal statement. This class is a LOT of work though, so take it during a semester where you have relatively easy classes.

Excellent teacher for motivated students. There is a lot of work, but by the end of the semester you’ll have a solid understanding of the material. She’s very clear about what she wants and she is willing to put in extra effort to help individual students succeed or excel. Pay attention, put in the effort, and you'll do fine (and learn a ton!)

She is a hard teacher. She is a nice individual. But be fore warned, she is the worst grader. You had better have impeccable grammer and spelling or your grade is going to suffer alot. Also when doing presentations she deducts points on appearance. No text book. Make sure to write everything she says down when taking notes. Not easy teacher.

Extremely talented professor. Intelligent, dedicated and very likeable. She wants her students to do well and with the right amount of effort you will. Not an easy class but a very enjoyable learning experience.
