Dan expects you to think. If you say something in class, he wants you to back it up and not just pull stuff out of thin air. If you do, he calls you on it (and rightly so). He has very high expectations for his students. If you are a slacker, go find someone else. This guy will NOT hold your hand.

He repeats all the time; asks questions to the class but does not wait for answer, and does not pay any attention to students' answers; a highly teacher-centered and old school fellow

I dont think this professor has ever been happy with any inclass answer he's recieved from students. He ridicules every answer and makes you feel stupid. Im in grad school and I feel like this professor talks to us like were in high school. avoid this prof if possible.

An intellectual. He's old school, strict with what he says, and what he does. Very professional. Excellent choice of textbooks. If you are the talkative kinda student, you might want to think about taking his class. Fair when it comes to grading, and willing to help

He knows how to teach his stuff. He is a New Yorker from NYC so you need to understand that is part of his character (he might seem rude or gruff to some students not familiar with New York culture). If you want a teacher who is wimpy and "polite" then this is not the class for you.

He is the Best Teacher in the C&T Program. He's an excellent teacher, and he knows what he is talking about. Don't listen to the negative comments about him. He looks like he is strict(his appearance). But he is not strict especially if he likes you. Of course he is a hardcore linguist and you have to accept this if you take his classes.

Horrid teacher. Follows APA style for all research papers. Very vague on what to fix for the second version of both 10pgpapers you write in here. Avoid if possible.

He will ridicule anyone that speaks in class. Usually, students just sit and try to listen as he babbles on endlessly about what we are reading. However, he picks good books and articles to read and the work load is nothing major (daily readings and 3 major projects with more than enough time).

hard to communicate with and even more difficult to understand what is required. a good class, but those two things dont amount to a high opinion. if you like paperwork, go for it.

Pompous, arrogant, and sometimes just plain rude. Someone with such a fancy education should know how to treat people a little better. No one would argue that Dr. T is extremely smart, but if you can't treat others as human beings, then what's the point

Well,he is pretty friendly and good. Also,he's always being helpful to each student and explain how to do the assignments but i think he expects his students too high and that will make the students feel hard for his course.Eventhough,he's a good professor
