My best in class experiences have been with Dr. Hansen. There is always more to learn, I am never bored, and he brings coffee to his 8AM classes and cookies to tests. His assignments and grading are hard to prepare us to be good computer scientists, not weak, lame programmers. He doesn't tell you everything and that helps teach us to use intuition.

David Hansen makes already difficult topics more difficult. He seems to be confused about what is covered in the prerequisites for his classes, so he just assumes that students know things. He's a very difficult grader and he gives vague and confusing feedback on assignments. If you don't ask a question the right way, you won't get a clear answer.

Applies to 314, 360, 340, 420, 440, 460 as well. All classes tend to be fast paced and challenging. Large projects end-loaded mean taking more than one Hansen class per term (inevitable if CS major) needs good time scheduling. These are not slide through classes! Approachable but intolerant of slack. Plan accordingly and get a great education.

Hansen is a nice guy, but a terrible teacher. He never answers questions students have, and he expects everyone to just know the math already. He doesn't explain well and the homework is just a waste of time. The only good thing was that he baked cookies for us at every test.

Hard Prof. Good teacher, but he flys through information, hard to keep up sometimes. Not always as helpful as you would like when you ask him a question. Sometimes he's a little ruthless, and other times, he's very forgiving. Very confusing at times.

it gets a little tricky during percentages, but he makes the test easyer, and less points. other then that just keep up with the work, and you will be fine.
