Easily the best teacher in the finance department. He will make you answer questions, and it will make you learn. Hes intimidating at first, but he lightens up. If he taught all my classes I would have gotten a much better education at EIU.

Comment:

Great teacher. Beginning Finance course, so the class was fairly easy. Attendance matters; a lot of in class assignments. I would definitely take him again if he teaches any more of my classes in the future!

Dr. McGrady understands his material quite thoroughly. He'll call on you to answer questions you might not understand, but it's only to teach you the logic of a pretty trifling subject matter. He really does want you to pass and will give you pre-tests and help with quizzes (which are in-class). All in all, I'd rate him tough, but fair.

this teacher will not give you the answer about homework and pertest after you finished it. And when he in the class, he just talk about the question that most people missed. After talk about the question that most people miss, he will ask you any question need to explain. BUT, i even do not know which one i made mistake how can i ask him.

McGrady is one of the best teachers I have encountered while at EIU. He forces you to pay attention in class by engaging an interactive lecture. Make sure you always attend class, and pay attention. He is the whole reason why I now have a Finance Minor. Great Great Teacher!

Tough class, but glad I took it with him. He knows his stuff. Gives out a lot of homework and quizzes but it's worth it because it helps with the learning process. He is very helpful. He makes funny comments. Don't take it personal.

Most challenging class I have taken thus far; he assigns a new chapter, you do the assignment and submit it before the next class, then he teaches that chapter. Good technique, because you end up actually forcing yourself to learn the material - or just get the answers from someone else (which happened often). VERY CHALLENGING MOST TIMES.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about McGrady. Yes his class is difficult, but the man is brilliant. His lectures are the farthest thing from boring. He incorporates the class in discussion whether you like it or not, but it keeps you engaged and learning. I would recommend him to anybody. VERY understanding and easy to work with.

McGrady is a challenging teacher. He wants you to succeed, but he wants to challenge you at the same time. He's going to ask questions he doesn't think you can answer to make you think about it. You have to go to class everyday, as there are always points to hand in and will need all you can get. Don't be late. Can be a little rude at times.

(computer concepts) great professor, learned a lot & was really easy. although, i like computers & 1/2 way know what i'm doing. if you put in the time after class (about an hour each week) & go to class then it's at least an easy B. would recommend him to anyone!
