Comment:

Loved professor Rothgery and his class (and I hate writing). He cares about his students and works well with you. He gives you the option to write what you want. We don't do much in class other then discuss current topics and read articles that give you examples of good interesting writers.

This class is awesome, no text book, 15 journal entries on the magazines articles of your choosing. he gives out required readings usually a page maybe two, all the readings I am happy I read and we discuss in class. 3 essays that are double spaced, 15 pages in all over the term. I loved this class, keeps it current to whats going on in the world.

Comment:

Rothgery wants you to break out of the cookie cutter mold of writing. He wants you to be PASSIONATE. For WR122, he required 14-18 pages (in 1-3 essays, your choice) and 15 one paragraph journal entries for the entire term. Very interesting teacher, helpful and fun to talk to. If you want to grow as a writer, take Rothgery's class.

Great and easy teacher overall. Has few required readings and gives lectures on writing. Everybody is required to share some work at some point too. My suggestions for getting an easy A: Get the journal done in the first 5 weeks Think about passionate subjects before you start typing. PassionA in writing. Revise the paper a few times!

I completely enjoyed his class. He is a very helpful teacher, easy to approach, and is very understating. He likes when the students participate in class discussions. Also it is mandatory that you share at least one of your papers with the whole class. If you apply yourself, listen to his feedback and do the revisions you should exceed in his class

He is a pretty easy going teacher. I liked his class for the most part, although it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It felt a little bit more like a creative writing class. If you can write well you will get a good grade. If your writing style isn't as creative, this may not be the best class for you though.
