Comment:

Yaz is a very knowledgeable, she has a great command of calculus and will be able to answer and explain any question you have. However, sometimes she won't explain some topics if she deems them easy to understand. Her lectures are a very good indication of what will be on the tests, go to lecture and you'll have a decent understanding.

Comment:

I LOVE Prof. Yaz, she is the sweetest lady ever. Shes easily my favorite math prof at MSOE because she explains concepts SO well + so THOROUGHLY. Her test questions are super similar to the examples she gives in class and the questions on her quizzes/homework. She counts ur lowest test grade as 15%, ur highest as 30%, and the other 2 as 20% each.

Comment:

She gets angry when you don't understand or get something right in class so office hours are so unapproachable. She's just really passionate but displays it in a rude way. She is also very inconsistent with what she wants you to write for theorems. She says one thing on notes but you'll get it wrong if you write the same thing on an exam.

Comment:

Had Yaz as a Prof. for Differential Equations. She is an Actuarial science professor, and having her teach a non-actuarial course proves that. She has little patience in our class, will often rant about how students need to remember identities and properties from other classes, and will often answer a different question than the one she is asked.

I tried my very hardest in her class and did each and every one of her assignments. Yet the class was extremely hard for me to understand ith her notes/lectures alone. If you already know/can teach yourself this material, you're golden. Otherwise I wouldn't suggest taking her.

After having taken many classes across many departments, I can safely say she was the worst professor I ever had. The class was not exceptionally difficult, but she changed her grading curriculum to a harder standard after the first exam (actually illegal to do). Even with an A in her class, I would never recommend her to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Yaz's class. She clearly explains theorems, class concepts, and takes the time to reiterate crucial concepts learned in previous classes. Exams were nothing out of the ordinary, and she even counts homework as a grade! She understands students' time doing homework is valuable.

She cares almost too much about her students and wants them to succeed. She really wants her students to understand what she is saying and sometimes when a question is asked she either makes the kid feel stupid or she doesn't understand the question or she does understand and explains the topic. She loves math and has a great passion for it.

Not the greatest but also not a bad choice. Fine lecturer, but can get very upset if she even thinks the class doesn't understand the material. Hates phones in class, she will tear you apart if you have it out

Dr. Yaz struggles to understand and respect students. She takes it personally that a student doesn't understand to the point where she literally got upset in class and said "I get this, How do you not understand it?" Also not approachable during office hours.

I've been out of college for over 10 years now, and I still have a bone to pick with this professor. She did not follow the grading formula in her syllabus. I intentionally didn't study for my final exam because it was numerically impossible to get anything other than an A in the class. So much for a math professor. Approaching her didn't help.

Yaz is great. If you don't understand something that was covered in another class, don't expect her to stop class to only help one person, they can easily go to her for help during office hours. Now to be honest here, if you are a dumb ass, of course the course is going to be hard, and that is everyone who is giving her poor reviews. Yaz is great.

She is a good lecturer but is a pain to deal with if you get lost. She is hard on hearing and assumes she knows exactly whats wrong with only two words out of your mouth. Also be prepared for her to over explain everything once she finally listens to you beyond the point of helpfulness and into the realm of annoyance.

Dr. Yaz did a great job teaching this course. The concepts she taught were widely applicable to other courses. They also applied well to some of the financial designations I was studying for at the time. She has a strong grasp of the material and is very helpful during office hours. I give Dr. Yaz my highest recommendation.
