Comment:

He would have been one of my favorite professors, but he was very insistent that he knew what was best for everyone although not all of the class was pursuing the same career. He would tell us the mistakes of his past classes, only to inform us that we would make the same ones. Great content but not a great professor.

He's teaching style is fine unless he's in a bad mood in which he rushes through or spends the majority of the class talking about what "we do" and what the students are doing wrong. I found myself constantly demeaned by his condescending attitude as he tells us a fact and proceeds to say "10 people will still get this wrong on the test."

Dr. Bertram is one of the best profs to have!!!! Freshman year was made ten times better by him. He is always ready to clarify things and overall just wants you to do your best. No homework except for reading and never any huge papers or projects.

Dr. Bertram was one of my favorite professors from this semester. He was very easy to follow in class and made sure his students were aware of what was expected of them at all times. He's a fabulous academic advisor and very approachable outside the classroom as well. Some test questions come from the book so I suggest reading/skimming chapters.

Best teacher I've ever had. Extremely helpful. Very personable. I've probably had 5 forensic classes taught by him. He goes way out of his way to help you. Challenges you daily. Makes you want to learn. Ive made A's in all his classes except for one and it was a high B.

He's incredibly repetitive but he wants all of his students to do well. Gives very good information and makes sure he's clear before he moves on. His tests are difficult but as long as you pay attention they're do-able.

Very helpful and want all his students to do well in his class. He tells you everything that's going to be on the test. Going to class isn't mandatory but I highly recommend it because you learn most of the test information from his lectures.

I have had quite a few classes under Dean and received no less than an A or B in either of them. He is a great teacher! I like how he does not teach from a book. He is very understanding and helpful. He want to see all of his students excel so if one of his classes is taken he will push you to do more than required. Love his classes!

I've had several of the FSC classes offered, and I have to say that he is a good professor. Provided that you attend class and take notes, you should do find on the tests after a bit of studying. He's an interesting lecturer and I've never been bored in one of his classes.

I have had every FSC course Dean has ever teached. He has a lot of knowledge in this field and makes you learn about whatever subject he teaches. If everyone loved Southern MS football as much as Dean, this school would actually have a following and fill the stands!

He is a fairly good teacher, but a little disorganized. He, however, is very informed on info pertaining to his field. The only things I don't care for are: the way he speaks of football(how its of main importance to the college-not so much education); and how he picks favorites.

I've had Dean for several forensic science classes. He's always been helpful to me when I needed it. His material, I thought, was easy to understand if you tried. I enjoyed his classes and have put a lot of what I've learned into practical use.
