She's not easy, but i learned SO much from her. She's rude, but if you have a sense of humor about it, its hilarious. fair amount of time for most projects, but she's not always clear about what she wants. I'd recommend her if you want to learn.

I was going to be a fine art major until taking her class she was unesssiscarily rude about everything. Expect a lot of allnighters with little satisfaction. DON'T MISS CLASS and NEVER BE LATE.

Do not take Drawing with Banks or any of her Art Classes if you are not ready to receive heavy criticism and stop sleeping. You need to be willing to dedicate hours of your time to drawing boxes cups and other things. Her criticisms may be harsh but they do help, she is very funny in a mean way but I liked her. Be prepared to redo projects a lot.

I had her for Drawing 1 and 3D and although she's tough, you learn a lot from her class and learn to think outside the box. She's hilarious but if you're sensitive you won't like her. You can't take what she says to heart so learn to laugh along with her. She's a very honest person and a fair grader so I would recommend her.

Banks may be tactless at times, but she's a good teacher. You learn a lot as long as you work hard and do what's expected, and there is definitely a lot of work. It's totally worth it if you're really passionate about art, plus she's hilarious, so, take her!

Personally I was a huge fan of Banks. She is extremely critical and can be so rude. Every time she told me i could not do something I worked harder to prove her wrong and I did every time. You need a good work ethic for her class and do not let what she says get to you because she admitted she just says stuff and does not mean it most of the time

She can be brutally honest and mean, but she is also laugh out loud funny (when it's not happening to you ^_~). Take her seriously do the work (it's a lot) and take an interest and you will learn a lot and have a lot of fun.

Learn to embrace Banks. She is really hard, but you WILL appreciate her the way she teaches when all is said and done. I had Saunders for drawing II and I actually missed Banks honesty and criticism. Saunders wasn't as helpful.

Banks is tough and I know a lot of bad things will be said. I love banks I had her for drawing 1 and 3D. My advice is make a banging first project and grow some thicker skin, cause if you can laugh with what she says you will love the class

I have mixed feelings about Banks. She's a hard professor- she is kinda inconsiderate about buying materials and the work load outside of class, but then again you learn a lot about how to draw correctly because she's really honest about your work, and she's also really funny.

I took her for Drawing I and 3-D, and she is tough. But if your serious about learning and seriously improving your skills, you need to get past that. Humor her jokes, take her criticism, and put a lot of time in your work.I improved greatly from her class and she told me that on numerous times at the end of the semester. I recommend her!

Banks can be pretty inconsiderate and very demanding. But If you're going to college to learn and become skilled at your trade, then isn't a challenge worth it? Because she's so demanding, you learn alot. And if you learn nothing from her, that's your fault. Laugh at her jokes, take her criticism as constructive, and you'll be fine.

I had heard horrible things about Banks; the first week of class I saw why. But you have to get past that, and not be afraid. (She scares away the weak ones for a reason.) If you're emotionally unstable have tissues handy otherwise you'll be okay. Sometimes she would say one thing for a project in class and then say the complete opposite next class, a little annoying. She tries to scare as many away as she can the first day of class but expect to do some crazy stuff and get your hands messy!

Professor Banks is very real and in the end I felt like I had learned a ton and grown a lot as an artist. There are drawing assignments every class but she critiques each piece before your portfolio review so you have time to make adjustments. She can be frank and the class can be long but she gives you a 15 min. break every class. Great teacher
