Comment:

Very intelligent man. Always addresses questions seriously even if the question is seemingly pointless or unrelated- he'll never make you feel dumb but sometimes a class can get bogged down by silly questions. He tends to repeat himself. He has an unbelievable amount of knowledge and insight about his material. He's also fantasticly helpful.

Zzzzzzzzz. Easily the most boring prof I've ever had. The classes were so bad I would stare at my watch and beg the time to go faster. Pretty hard grader too; his grading is largely opaque - you see relatively few comments and then get to the last page and there's just a grade there. Joy.

Comment:

Long-winded but interesting. Has a tendency to talk a lot but open to discussion. Material is very difficult at times but he's willing to work with you. Fair grader and a very nice guy. One of the most well-known at Pitt, too. Recommended.

As far as the Pitt phil. profs go, he is about average. His lectures were repetitious and monotone and I don't think he was an easy grader. I also found him to be pretty aloof and not that interested in undergrads.
