She was unreasonably hard on grading, and there was a lot of work. I am close to graduation, and I currently have all A's in all of my coursework except for this class-- she gave me a B-. So I am not a slacker of a student! If you have an option of another instructor, I'd go with the other one.

After two years of classes, this was my first negative experience with a professor. She was demanding, critical and condescending. She also lacks tactfulness. I will not take another class with her.

Rude, dismissive, brusque manner. This stifled discussion by the second week, as everyone was afraid of her. Turned World History into a Gender Studies class. Studied only women's history. Will not take course from her again.

This prof did participate in discussions, asking questions to help students clarify. However, she was not clear on expectations for assignments and grades very strictly (unreasonably so). I would have chosen a different prof, if I'd known.

She expects extremely comprehensive essays, without very much guidance. She also expects a lot of participation in discussions (and all must be "substantive"). She isn't around much, rarely answers questions until after you don't need the answer anymore, because you've already done the assignment the question was on! Would not take her again!!

fairly long diatribes that seemed overly political and inappropriate in contributing to class discussion. first told we'd get individual mid-course evaluations, so we could gauge our progress, etc. Tended up by requiring us to submit our own w/grades too...it ended up being my final grade!
