Professor Wendel made it very possible to pass his class. He assigned a lot of homework, but he reviewed every part of it every day before class. Tests were difficult, bit if you pay attention in class and do the homework they are passable.

Professor Wendell is a heavy lecturer and can be boring, but take notes every day and it will help things make sense. Book is mandatory- read the chapters. Homework assignments due every day out of the textbook but he lets you correct them as he goes over them so you get 100 every time. He's super nice and funny if you get to know him. He cares!!

In this class you teach yourself. I felt as if he did nothing to teach us and he was not approachable. He's very smart but that doesn't make you a good teacher.

Not a good teacher. Very monotone, very boring. Not the greatest at answering questions. There is a ton of homework and studying that you need to do in order to pass, which is frustrating when you're only taking it to fill a requirement. If you're not a chemistry on science major, do not take it from him.

He follows his syllabus very clearly so you can know what to expect. He's a nice guy, but not the best teacher. Class is boring and everything is done is a group that you don't choose and will be with for the semester. Lots of tests and quizzes. Oh, and extremely boring.

He says it's easy, but nearly everyone disagrees. He reads the PowerPoint, which come directly from the book, word for word. There are several questions that he didn't know the answer to .

Doug was a nice guy, but he wasn't the best teacher. His class was basically pointless and he pretty much expected you to learn the material yourself. Don't take this class if you can help it!

Professor Wendel was extremely organized in setting up his class. That was so helpful! I knew exactly what was expected. This class wasn't, however, easy. I basically read the text book front to back. Wendel is not the best at answering questions, but he really really wants to help. He is a very nice person

Personally I got quite a bit out of his class. He told us the first class that we would learn how to discover things on our own, and this has proved to be a helpful thing for me. The class required a lot of studying, but I pulled an A because of that. Any questions he was more than willing to answer and help explain in class.

Horrible professor. only one person in the class has an A. He refuses to give a 100 on any assignment or test. He doesnt explain anything clearly. Not a good professor at all. I wont be taking chem 1220 next semester because he'll be teaching it

I do not agree with Wendel's teaching style at all. He is degrading and confusing. My biggest pet peeve with him is that he is so "red pen happy". He marks up anything he can possibly find to mark. Everyone is struggling in that class. On the other hand, I do like that he explains things at the first of the lab.

Both me and my friend took him and thought he was really good. He understands that chemistry is just a GE class so he doesn't expect too much. Willing to help students and answer questions.

Personally, I disliked Wendel's way of teaching. He would use a Power Point that was made from the same company that made the textbook. But, he didn't seem to know when the next slide was and therefore made it nearly impossible to take notes. I don't expect every teacher to be perfect, but I would say that Wendel has room for improvement.

This class is one that you will work in, but I really like Professor Wendel's way of teaching. This is a good class to take!
