Comment:

She definitely taught us how to speak well and how to be confident. However, especially in the beginning of class, she pushes social interaction with peers on students. For example, she orders everyone to exchange phone numbers with like six other people. Also, her jokes can be a lot sometimes. She definitely cares about her class.

I took COMM 01 and it was the easiest class Ive taken. Harris is a funny but practical teacher and knows the difference between students who want to pass and who dont care. Her speeches are easy and so is the final. She gives extra credit if you go to Toastmasters Club meetings. GO TO CLASS, participation is part of the grade.

Professor Harris is one professor if you're looking for an easy professor. She is very considerate. I always volunteer first for most speeches, she was leant with grading for student who went on the first day Midterm was easy. A total of 5 speeches, 1 midterm, and final. She is way better than Steve Lipman.

I have anxiety, but she made it very easy to be in front of the class. I took it during Summer. Her class is easy, fast, just focus on practicing your lecture before you stand up there you will be fine. You will be fine.

Her teaching style may be difficult to comprehend for a few people, but if you understand it then this class is an easy A. Make sure to write down notes for the midterm and final and you should do well on them. As for speeches, make sure to come prepared and always learn from your previous speeches.

Comment:

Taking her class right now, she is funny, nice, easy to get along with. If you miss speeches she gives you chance to make it up the following week. For those of you who expect to get a good grade but don't present then obviously you will get a bad grade - common sense. She makes you feel comfortable and confident, speeches are easy.

At first the class seems pretty easy, but then the final exam and midterm messes your whole grade up. If you feel that she doesn't like you, she definitely doesn't like you, so drop her class because your life is going to get any easier throughout the semester. I highly recommend taking someone else. if you decide to take her, stay on her good side

I'm taking this teacher right now and I have to say she is the best funnest teacher I have taken at Mission. She doesn't really use a book or have you do homework. Her class is mainly focoused on speeches, which are 5 in total and are super easy to get an A in. She gives you the steps to write them and its just a fun class. Defenitly take her.

Love this teacher! She is funny, really makes the information stick. As long as you get homework in (including speeches) and are in class it's relatively easy to pass.

Took an evening class with her and we got to go home an hour earlier almost every time. Hardly used the book, but it is a good read. She is a bit disorganized, she had us buy a packet that was not only late but also wrong and she ended up emailing to us anyway. Likes to talk, so I guess if you like to talk too you'll get along fine.

Her teaching skill are great she demonstrate great examples. She has her student work in group to help us communicate and get to know one another. I think it is a plus since we end up talking in front of the class. We also bring food to share. She give 50 extra credit when you attend the speech tournament on campus.

I often have no idea what she's talking about; she'll go from one topic to the next. Assignments are often not explained, just a projection on the whiteboard, but the assignments can be easy(she doesn't like to read too much) Participating gives you a higher grade, so I suggest you do it and ask lots of questions.

She is the greatest public speaking professor ever. Take her class. Shes nice, hilarious, straight forward, friendly, and she is really easy to connect with. She tries to get to know her students and it makes things more comfortable. SHES SO AWESOME. Follow her directions, because she doesnt change them. And dont miss a class! Shes so nice you wont want to miss it anyways hahah
