Comment:

Without a doubt, the only professor you should take for chem lab. She gives you all the answers to the pre-lab and grades fairly easy. Just show up, do the lab, and you'll get an A. She tells you what you need to know to pass and will answer any questions you have! Goes through the lab before we start.

Comment:

Prof West is great. She rambles occasionally but its not really an issue. There are worksheets that you do with her and turn in for a grade, easy points. Tests are multiple choice and 2 write ons. The objectives that she gives you tell you exactly what you need to know and if you pay attention she tells you what to focus on when studying.

Comment:

Sit down & buckle up, here is the low down on prof West. She is super sweet, like a little old grandma, but she is not a chem prof. You have to teach yourself everything, gives "objectives" but that is not what the test is on. Rambles off during lecture, and puts things she ran out of time to explain, on the exam anyway. Stay far far away

Comment:

Professor West struggled to explain certain chemistry concepts. If she would write something incorrectly and we would try to correct her, she would get defensive and say that she didn't do anything wrong. She doesn't give students the time of day and always runs out of time to explain things that she includes on tests. Overall would not recommend.

Would not recommend. She spends more time talking about unnecessary things than actual chem. You could show up 10 minutes late and she'll just be starting. When you ask her a question she seems bothered. I loved chemistry in high school but prof west made me dislike it. Not to mention she has made rude comments regarding Flint and gender equality.

Her lectures are very long but she does know what she is talking about! She is always there is you need help and will spend time explaining things to you. She also gives worksheets that help out A TON with your grade if you do well on them!

Can't stand how she talks for an hour before a lab that only takes 40 minutes. I find myself pondering if it's possible to be bored to death. She's very sweet, the class is easy, but I dread it every lab day. It's almost not worth the easy A.....

Had her for lab and she was very nice and helpful. She has weekly lab quizzes that are very easy. She sends an email out each week with the questions that will be on each quiz. She does talk a lot before each lab, but overall she was a great teacher.

This professor was extremely helpful when it came to answering questions. However, my lab partner and i noticed that she would talk for at least 1/2 hour about the lab, and anything she could think of that had even the smallest relevance, but was not needed. Also, is VERY particular about sig figs

She's great. She would always stay after lab to help us if we needed it. She also made some office time available. I definitely would recommend her for 115 lab.

She is such a wonderful professor. I would recommend her to anyone. Her labs do tend to take a while but only because she wants you to undertand the purpose. She really does care about you as a student and will help you out tremendously. Take her for CHM 115 lab and you will be happy.

She literally spends the entire first 45min-1hr just talking with no end. She is VERY anal about sigfigs. If you dont follow her directions she gets easily upset. She does have the easiest lab quizzes ever.. (answers on board) She is willing to answer almost any questions. I ABsolutely did NOT like her.. but take her if you want a good grade.

If you are gonna have a lab, this is definitely one to help boost your grade. To get a bad grade in her class.. you would have to try! Really nice, but dont plan on getting out of lab that early... she's kinda talkitive... :):)

She is a really nice lady! She even gives you the answers on the weekly "world's easiest lab quiz." She does talk a little too much, but only because she does not want us to screw up with hazardous chemicals. Highly Recommended!

She loved to talk and talk and talk. we wasted so much time having her talk at the beginning of lab sometimes it was hard to finish the lab on time. It didn't seem like she read the lab until right before class because many time students had to correct her on what she ewas doing. Very easy though
