Comment:
Prof. Kongar is a natural mentor. Her lectures are very informational and she has short writing assignments (1.5 pages) for half of the class, which are going to be questions on the exam. In other words, questions similar to your homework will be on exam. She is not tough grader if you study properly, she explains the material very carefully

Professor Kongar is an amazing professor who makes every class interesting and truly cares about her students. When writing papers for class she gives you plenty of time/access to her to help develop your topic, and though you do need to study for tests, if you're diligent you'll get an A. An expert in her field, and a mentor to many.

I took Political Economy of Gender, Race, and Class and Professor Kongar helped make it one of my favorite classes. She is passionate about the subject and really cares about her students. Definitely one of the best professors I've had. There were many reading assignments and a few papers, but nothing too difficult.

Kongar is the best Professor in the Department. There are some days when her class was not the best sometimes dragged a bit, but even on those days you learn something of substance. Her class is easy if you put forth the effort. I took her contending course and it changed my outlook on economics. She is the reason why I fell in love with Econ.

I absolutely ADORE professor Kongar. She is very smart and she is great at getting her point across, but usually doesn't lecture. She is more inclusive and forces the students to prove the point she is trying to make. Her lectures are fun and interesting and as long as you like the material, you will love the class.

She's the best. Prof Kongar will enrich your learning experience and will provide insight to areas of economics that other professors don't cover. Highly recommended, choose her as your advisor.

Lots of writing in the course, both hwk and exams. If you want to understand why econ. matters take this course. You will have to put up with feminist stuff but everything else makes sense.

Comment:
Lectures were painful. I felt like I was in a Women and Gender Studies class. We spent over half the semester on Feminist Economics and didn't get to many other schools of thought. Few assignments but they took hours to complete. Exams weren't bad if you were prepared but they covered a ton of material and were brutal to study for. Avoid Kongar.

Comment:
Econ 288 was very boring and was a lot of work. You get assigned extremely long reading assignments every class. She will help narrow down the possible questions on the tests to about 30 so there are no surprises on exams. However, she takes points off when you don't include something she wants and you never know exactly what she wants.

This was my first econ course and it was a wonderful experience. She is very organized and writes notes on the board. She makes sure she knows who is at class and keeps track of participation. She includes great clips, movies, and slideshows that relate to the topics.Highly recommend!

Absolutely impossible to understand, if you try to go for extra help she rarely can help you because so many other students need help. She doesn't help if u want to meet one on one, she makes you get a tutor. Her tests are so confusing

Her lectures were often very boring. Her accent made it hard to understand her. The tests were easy but this Professor made economics so dry. I didn't expect to like the class, I just took it for a major requirement, but I didn't expect it to be that bad. She is a nice person outside of class but take the class with someone else if possible.

I absolutely did not like this class. Teacher made mistakes when teaching. Her accent makes her hard to understand. You'll probably get a tutor too if you have her class. She is not a good teacher. Nice person outside the classroom. One day, she forgot that we had a test the next class day. Good luck if you have her.
