Comment:

Dr Albert is an absolute wealth of information. The class is dry but thats because metallurgy is a fairly dry subject (he tries to make it as interesting as he can). The class was hard in the sense of you had to work for it and you couldn't just skate through it. Tests were all open book open note and the final was a paper.

Comment:

Good class. You will get what you put into it being as tests are open book. Lab is pretty interresting. Final paper was easy. He gives you an option to write an extra credit paper at the end. (only 2 more pages than what the class already has to write)- do it. Almost certain to raise your grade a letter grade. Those who didnt do it got C's and B's.

Unless metallurgy is your thing this class will be dry and boring and hard to stay awake, bring a drink. Half the class won't understand what he's talking about so pay attention! The labs are pretty cool. Print out his online notes but take extra notes because test are open note/book. Try to learn the terminology asap. The plural of cow is "kine".

Dr.Albert is a good guy, minus the combover. just do your best to try in the class and he will be fair. All of the tests were open note and open book. One was even takehome. The final was optional if the class kept a 75% average.

Anyone speaking negatively about Dr. Albert or his classes obviously have some personal beef with him - they probably failed tests or cheated. I HIGHLY recommend Albert - he's fair, funny and friendly.
