Dr. McNelis is a wonderful professor - she is super caring and she will make it easy for you to understand the concepts! I am horrible at math, but I have done really well in her Math 170 class. She really enjoys helping out students and also she gives out partial credit on some things as well! If you ever need a math, take it with her!

Comment:

I've had Dr. McNelis for several classes and I'm never disappointed. She clearly loves her job and enjoys helping students. She is almost always on campus, so go by her office. She gives clear instructions/feedback on all assignments. Also, if she makes a mistake she will give out brownie points and when the class gets 25, she brings in brownies.

Dr. McNelis is such a wonderful teacher. She helped me basically every time she held office hours. She understood that I struggled with math, but the way she was able to explain it on my level astounded me. She expects quality work and willingness. Don't forget to label your units. I would take her again. Take her if you struggle with math.

Dr. McNelis is an amazing professor. If you ever get the chance to take a math class with her, take her!! She is very helpful and gives brownie points so when the class gets like 20, she brings in a bunch of brownies. She is very supportive and always answers emails and questions. On the testsquizzes, she gives loads of partial credit.

Things were presented in a clear fashion, one leading to another. Dr. McNelis presents the material in an interesting fashion and tailor's the homework to support and enforce what we're studying. She's very pleasant and helpful. She finds time in a timely fashion. She likes class participation. She makes the material easier to learn. Accessible.

She is friendly most of the time. kind of moody. she is super hard but you learn a lot. her homeworks are brutal. there is a good chance that she will unload a TON of work on you right at the end of the semester which is rough. she takes a long time to get grades back to you but she is super thorough and gives very useful comments.

Good teacher everything is exaplaned clearly. However she never takes up homework that she assigns which didnt motovate me to do it... A lesson learned. Advice do you home work and ask question then you will do fine in this course.

ms mcnelis is a great teacher of a hard course. with any other teacher i dont know that i would have done quite as good.she knows her stuff and relates it well. she does what she can to help u out if you need her. i definately recommend her to everyone, especially guys bc she also keeps u interested with her looks

Comment:

Erin expects a lot of work out of her students. Her homework assignments can take weeks at several hours a day, and you will never finish a test early. However, she is ALWAYS available for help and she is not a tough grader. She also gives very clear lectures with great examples. Great teacher overall.

It's good to see a mathematician that realizes that Theory is not the only thing in life. Dr. McNelis' homework assignments are huge, and she has to bring food to the tests so people can keep up the energy to answer her compare and contrast questions. She is definitely a good teacher for this class.

I loved Erin's class! She is the best in the math department by far, and I hope to have her again. She is extremely nice and very helpful. Very smart too, she knows what she is doing, and you will too if you have her. Just do the work.

Really nice professor. Attempts to make class go well... although this semester really sucked because it was 3 hours at 6 at night. Really long homework assignments, and yucky tests.... know how to do the Calculus (integration, ders) by hand.

Comment:

Her desserts she makes for class makes up for it being difficult. If you make a bad grade there is almost always a way to come back and improve on it. Puts Uma Thurman to shame.
