Dr. Miller is really interesting and passionate about sociology. He doesn't put up his lecture outlines on d2l. There are four tests. Half of the material is from class and the rest is from one of the assigned readings. We had to read four books on our own, he spends only one class period reviewing the book.

This was my very first sociology course and was the reason I chose sociology as my second major. Attendance isn't mandatory but the class is largely lecture-based. I loved the class and found it extremely interesting. Miller makes the concepts easily understandable and he has quite the sense of humor. I would definitely recommend this professor.

Gale Miller is a good guy. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to the material and is a fair teacher. I don't think that he has trick questions on his tests. If you read the books (Which, there are only four) then the tests are not bad at all.

He is a great teacher. Most people on here complain that he tries to trick you, but if you read the assigned material, it's clear that he isn't. He asks questions that you couldn't answer if you didn't read. The people who complain clearly just didn't do the reading. Take him if you aren't lazy.

Great teacher, an awesome class. He teaches in a very different style than most (completely lecture, no student participation). But the material he covers is absolutely fascinating. I took a ton of notes and read all four books. If you do that, the tests really aren't very hard.

SOOOO BORING!!! I didn't like the way he teaches , although he is funny sometimes. He talks the whole class, his tests are not clear, a lot of trick questions. You are required to read 4 books for 4 tests!! Therefore, it is impossible to know what the test will focus on.

Miller definitely knows his stuff. If you come to class and take notes, as well as read books assigned, tests are not that hard. He tells you whats going to be on the test (subj-wise). Talks a lot, but usually is interesting. Lots of stories/off-topic things. Be ready to write notes. Overall, I'd take him again.

I REALLY enjoy Dr. Miller's lectures. He has a lot of interesting stories he can relate to the subject. However, he WILL NOT stop talking the ENTIRE class period and your hand will feel like it's going to fall off because you've written so much. Tests are not easy, all multiple choice, not awful. Some "none of above" and "all of above" tricky.
