For a pastor, he had a very unique scholarly view of religion. So long as you keep an open mind and...just ask question, he would tell you some tell funny anecdote. His class is easy but worth attending, should his class a chance if you need a HUM r/ want to learn little about different culture around the world.

Comment:

One of the most interesting classes I've ever taken. He's very knowledgeable about the subject since he's an ordained Methodist minister. I got to visit a Hindu temple for a project and learned a lot. I just paid attention, took notes, and read them right before the tests and aced the class. Also has a sense of humor. Bottomline: great teacher!

The most fun class I've taken yet. I love the discussions and the class is such a free environment and really laid back. Everyone that likes english will LOVE any of his classes, especially this one. Everyone should take it!

I had this professor my very first sememster and I loved him so much. I thought he was an excellent teacher. I did not need the class but the student advisor that i had at the time said I should take the class. He had a lot of fun projects to do and they were educational but very fun. He teaches very well. Dr. Gary Lee Sligh is one of the very best english teachers I have ever had.

It's an OK class. Dr. Sligh himself is a great teacher. He's even made the most boring books seem intresting when we talk about them in class. Great teacher! Gotta take him! He also teaches 1101, 1102 and World Religions.

He's such an easy teacher! I recomend taking his World Religions class! He may be an english teacher, but he doesn't demand perfect english stuff on his essay tests! Very fair in grading!

Great teacher. Lectures were kind of monotone, but there are enough jokes and side-stories to keep you awake. You also learn alot, which is good. Tests were easy, although I'd freak out before each one because I wasn't sure if I studied enough. Also, if you hate writing essays, you'll hate the exam.
