Comment:

I took two courses taught by Gina, and I learned loads about art history. They have been some of the most informative courses I have ever taken. Don't expect an easy A, and devote ample time for bigger assignments. Those who rated negatively missed out an opportunity to learn from an extremely knowledgeable expert in the art field. She is basically not helpful. She comes in class, gives you the assignments , deadline, and that's it. You must finish yourself, there is no help and mercy at all. That means, she asked you to buy the right book, then study yourself.

Knowledgeable but awful teacher. She is downright an annoying person & often complains about her hot flashes and menopause & quite frankly, I don't care. Constantly complaining and unprepared for class. Stalls just to keep us till the end of class. Rude and demeaning towards students. Take her class if you're willing to put up with BS all semester.

Took her class online. Her blackboard organizational skills are horrible. I took this class to learn about art not to do pastel drawings. Her ignorance is apparent simply through email correspondence. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

extremely easy class, bur very boring. every friday was spent making stupid projects, but if you rush through, you can leave. she loves yelling, being rude, embarrassing people, and calling the students stupid (especially non-art majors). the tests were simple and it's an easy A but be prepared that she is not an easy person to get along with.

Very dissatisfied with this teacher. I am taking art appreciation online. I worked ahead in the class. She told me via emaiil that I was not learning anything because I was going too far ahead. It took her 3 weeks to get any graded work back to us and she gave me another students grades/work back. Very unprofessional!

The people complaining about this teacher are probably the type that don't show up for class or do any work anyway. This class was super easy and I don't even like art or art history! Tests are easy, group projects are easy and creative, and she goes out of her way to make the material interesting. Highly recommended--she's very lenient and fun!

She knows her subject very well, though her teaching style is very laid back and may not work well with some people. I had her for 205 and 206, and now 208, and I've found the class to be fairly easy if you do the work. Her study guides basically give you what is on the exams and she's very free with extra credit. Definitely recommended.

Most annoying and rude teacher I have ever met. Continually talks down to people who are not art majors. Tries to embarass students at any chance she gets. Material could not get any more boring, and every Friday was spent making arts and crafts that were irrelevant to the course. I would never recommend this class to anyone, ever.

One of the easiest teachers and very knowledgeable about her subject. Follow her Powerpoints and test guidelines and you'll do fine - I didn't put a whole lot of effort in and I have an A. I took her for 206 as well and have her for 208 next semester. Definitely recommended.

Gina is great. She's very knowledgable & really knows her stuff. Her lectures are very informative. After taking her art history courses, you come away with a much better understanding of art history. I enjoyed her ART208 class & took her again for ART206. Probably the best art history teacher at MVCC. If you like art history, take her classes.

This lady is amazing and for all you slackers who are just taking her class because you need an art class no wonder u dont appreciate her. Her class wasn't difficult. I didn't have to put that much effort into the class! If you paid attention to her lectures, the tests should be easy! If you need help with anything at all, don't be afraid to ask her! People complained about the term project, but she had to go by the art department's regulations. At the start of the semester, she stated that all opinions were open about the art. Later on in the year, we start sharing our opinions and she just brings you down. When she is talking, she sounds like we're kids in KG. She also laughs at you when you're wrong. Anything we learned in that class is no related to art.
