DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. Class was canceled so much, which sounds like a dream but makes you feel so lost. She's not clear about anything and changes her mind at the drop of a hat. Never seen anything with a grade on it. Lots of group work. I'm so upset I paid extra for this class and didn't learn anything.

Super easy A, once you figure out what it is she wants. She has a 42 page syllabus but changes assignments on the fly. I think she is incredibly knowledgeable and very passionate about education and policy, but she is a poor lecturer. sitting through Mcfield's class is much more painful than doing the actual work.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. McField, while very smart and knowledgeable, provides a course which is difficult, insanely time-consuming, and you leave the course exhausted. She is a stickler for APA, so make sure to have a good understanding. Few online sessions, more work online than would do in class. No quizzes, just lecturing. BUY THE READER.

I was surprised with all the other reviews. This class was the easiest thing I've ever done. Show up once a week and just talk. NO TESTS. very little homework. She's such an easy grader, gives full credit on most things.

AVIOD AT ALL COSTS. She is SO unorganized and requires ridiculous amts. of work for no grade. You miss class (which is terrible to sit through) and you get pts. taken away. She can't hold onto any topic, and you have no idea what she even expects of you. I'm a 4.0 student and cannot handle this prof. So much busy work she doesn't read. Dont take.

I have really disliked this course so far. I can tell that McField is a very well-educated and accomplished woman but it seems like she has no time to actually TEACH a class. Half of the semester is done online where we visit only once per week but she assigns solo much busy work its not easy. Her "lectures" are unclear & assignments are long.

She does a poor job at keeping track of students' work and personal guidance. Her assignments are pretty unclear. She demands too much busy work that is hard to keep up with. Her class lacks rigor. She does have passion for her topics. She also keeps up with the latest findings in her field. One of the worst professors, but one of the nicest people

Too much independent learning and too deadline intensive. She is disorganized on how to give specific directions and how to tell you how you are doing individually Individual assignments are easy though. She has a great demeanor and great passion for the material. She is up to date with the latest info in her field.

Not my favorite professor, although she is a kind and compassionate person, overall, I wish I didn't take this class. She's disorganized, confusing, and unclear especially since half of the class is online. Her lectures are irrelevant but takes attendance for points. Avoid her if you can, if not, just do the work and you'll pass.

She is a fine educator with lots of experience inside and outside of the classroom. She is passionate about social justice like me. She does go off topic easily. If you are in a situation, talk to her, she will listen right away. I could not afford the books and I still got an A from borrowing from library. She has a good heart. lots of busy work!!

Dr.McField is an excellent teacher. She is compassionate about teaching, your learning in all areas of ed. Class was very motivating- online readings, videos, research, and short stories from book. Topics from social injustices of minorities, learning & teaching styles for culturally diverse students. You will also become a better writer. She cares.

Dr. McField?s class was a joke. The assignments weren?t too bad just tedious and very unclear at times. Her Lectures are the WORST do not make sense power point slide after power point slide. She encourages you to participate in class discussions but then reticules you in front of the class when you speak your mind and she doesn?t agree with you. A

God was this class boring and McField did little to make it interesting. Most of the discussion was pure dribble and was utter nonsense. While McField isn't the worst teacher I've ever had the class was certainly one of the worse. She is nice though and i guess with such a boring class thats a nice positive.

McField is pleasant and does know her material, although it gets lost somewhere in the process! She tends to be all over the place. Most assignments are online, with lots of writing....lots. nothing hard, but assignments keep changing and morphing. The syllabus should be simplified. End of term grades will be a suprize package. No tests.

McField is one of the worst teachers I have had here at San Marcos. She does not tie the information into teaching what so ever and focuses on being politically correct to a point where it impedes learning. She never addressed the TPE for the course but had us write a paper on it. Her assignments are NEVER clear. I will not take her again.

Comment:
McField is a nightmare for any college student. She is overly politically correct. Much of the time she is out doing personal business and brings her husband in as a guest speaker to teach the class. Grading policies and assignments are very unclear. She is disorganized and insecure in her teaching abilities, this is often displayed during lectures

So focused on being Politically Correct that you can't say anything at all. Does not keep class interest. I fail to see how the majority of what we "covered" is relevant.

The work is easy, but she's just plain boring. You won't know your grade until the very end. Doesn't give exceptions. I highly suggest someon else for this class.
