Genius but can be quite boring. He doesn't use blackboard so you have to kind of guess what your grade is throughout the semester. If you miss class for a real reason he actually cares. Listen and ask questions, you'll learn a lot! Take home exams but are graded harshly.

This man is a genius. This was by far one of the best courses to learn exactly what you need to know before graduating. Open note exams (must take good notes which is hard because he only speaks no PowerPoints no white board notes) the exams can definitely be a little difficult even with notes but I'd take this class over again. He's hilarious

His class was four hours long and incredibly boring mostly lecture. He is also very hot headed seem agitated all the time. He once brought me into his office and yelled at me for walking up to the trash can 4 times during his 4 hour class, even though no one noticed but him. He is the worst professor I had at CMU.

Very interesting professor, I really liked his class- he has such interesting stories that compliment the material we go over. Go to class, take notes and this class will be a piece of cake- he doesn't just give you the answers, he wants to make sure you really know the material, definetly a great professor.

Not an easy professor, but he gives you 20-30% of your grade with easy assignments. Open book/note exams are not easy, plain and simple. Take good notes, and you should escape with a B or higher. Very interesting class, he comes off as intimidating, and can be short with his remarks, but he is a good guy in general.

Be ready to work! You will have assignments that challenge you, not your typical SOC class, he expects college level work not high school. Get you work done and turn in it on time you will be golden.

Easy class if you attend regularly and take notes. Open book/note exams are nice if you show up to class. This man is a genius

Good Professor. Shows intersting films and lets you share your opinion. If you take notes and show up you'll be good to go.

Can seem intimidating to some because he tells it how it is. Don't be threatened...damn good teacher. Teaches the material well, and his classes are easy enough if you pay attention and take good notes. Don't miss class and take notes. You can learn a lot from Mika.

Very interesting class. Make sure you take good notes and know where stuff is in your book. Just because the exam's open notes/open book doesn't mean you will do well on it. But it is an interesting class and he's an excellent teacher.

He's a good professor. It is important to take good notes in his class and look them over before the exam because he does allow open book/open note exams. Juvenile Deliquency is a very controversial subject and I like that he let us apply our own theories
