Everyone else seemed to love Sutton, but I wasn't that crazy about him or the class. He was nice, but I had a hard time paying attention - and I'm an English major! The readings were interesting though. And he was good about taking late work and canceling class if the class begged.

This class is probably the slackest honors class I've ever taken. Several times, almost EVERYONE came to class unprepared, and he let us sit in class and do our late assignment for full credit. We didn't even have to do a final or a research paper because we ran out of time for the semester. Just do your quizzes and your work, and you'll be fine.

I love him! He is super nice and funny. If you read and go to class you will get an easy B or higher. Just do the work and you will like the class. The readings he picks are very good and easy to read. TAKE HIM!!!

i like this guy. kinda goofy and silly, but he knows what he is talking ab. people get mad when they get their grades back but its only bc they dont do what he assigned. its simple - listed to what he wants (he will tell you) and do it. there is a lot of work but its pretty creative and enjoyable. not an easy A but work working for

Midterms are easy. Average grader. Light workload. Personality is awesome. Had him for 2 classes and absolutely adored him. You gotta talk to him after class or out of class. Build a connection with him. In the end, itll be worth it because of a better grade and he's really one of the best profs at FMU. And he rides a Harley to work! Rock on, man:)

The king of mumblers! He should be a member on King of the Hill! His explanation of the assignments leaves one in bewilderment, thus resulting in low class averages. His wry jokes can cost you your grade if you don't laugh with him. Who cares about his redneck adventures(NASCAR, motorcycle, & beer)? BEWARE if you're not a pretty white girl.

The work isn't hard, but you can't just do it the night before and expect an A. You have to earn your grade. Sometimes he doesn't explain the assignments that well in class, but if you go to him for help he's really nice about it. Plus we didn't have to buy the expensive book, and who can complain with that? He's a funny guy too =).

He never explains the assignments cleary. The assignments seem really easy and then you get grades back and the class average is B's and C's. The class is very boring and even if you do manage to get a decent grade you wont learn anything. If you are an English or Business major dont take him.

Dr Sutton is a nice, amiable professor. Those that complain about the class being boring probably don't like literature in the first place, so what do they expect? He's a lenient and even generous grader. He's corny and goofy but that just adds to his personality in a good way. The ones that gave him poor ratings were probably just slack students.

I took Sutton for both of my American Lit courses, and sometimes he's a little unclear, but overall a good and humorous professor. Be sure to read everything because he gives frequent quizzes. His exams are lengthy, but will help out. The research paper is the only one he has you do.

I would rather watch paint dry than hear this man talk. He's monotonous and a tough grader. I made nothing less than a B on anything in his class. He failed me for class participation b/c I missed 2 days. I missed them b/c of a funeral and a school field trip. I still got an A so he can kiss it!
