Comment:
Dr. Vehrs is very organized in his approach to teaching exercise physiology. He has videos that are straight and to the point that you can watch. He wrote his textbook and it is very clear and simple. Also: YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THE KREBS CYCLE!! He curves tests and gives extra credit. He responds promptly to emails. He is a man of the students.

Dr. Vehrs is probably the best professor I have ever had! He is so organized, and it's evident that he really knows what he is teaching. He has great videos online and his textbook is super easy to read and so well-written. Quizzes and tests are the only assignments and are very doable (extra credit offered too). I would take every class from him!

He teaches very clearly, but very monotone. He was also pretty condescending and would guilt the class when we didn't know the answer to one of his questions rather than just explaining. He does get a lot of extra credit that helped my grade a lot though! He does teach difficult concepts well. Always goes over the time limit so beware of that!

Dr. Vehrs is amazing. He teaches so simply and uses repetition so that everything is clear and sticks with you. The material is difficult, but Dr. Vehrs taught it in a way that was so understandable. He knows his stuff inside and out. He gives tons of extra credit and makes sure help is always available. Would definitely take from him again.

There are two midterm exams before the final and a quiz every week. If you want a good grade you will need to stay awake in class, take notes in class, go to the TA's reviews every week, and read the textbook. Any less than this will most likely result in a less than desirable grade. Dr. Vehrs is a smart instructor you just need to pay attention.

This is a hard class, but if you put in the work by reading the book and studying you'll get an A. You can earn 6% extra credit and let's us retake one of the two midterms. I was intimidated by the textbook at first, but it's clear to read. DO THE STUDY GUIDES AND BACK OF THE BOOK QUESTIONS. They helped A LOT (some were used in the weekly quizzes).

Vehrs is the best option for this course. It's a hard class but with how he lectures the class is doable. If you read the textbook and take notes in lecture you will pass with flying colors. Especially since he provides extra credit that boosts your grade by 6%. Take vehrs!

Vehrs is a pretty dry guy, but very smart and clear nonetheless. He wrote the textbook and it correlates well with what he says in class, making the material he wants you to know very clear. Quizzes every Monday and 3 tests make up your grade, but he offers a substantial amount of extra credit. Highly recommend!!

Tough class, but doable with Vehrs. Weekly quizzes and tests make up your grade. He seems to fish for certain answers on quizzes, but if you pay attention in class and read the textbook you can do fine. He wrote the textbook and it's awesome. Make sure you do the extra credit, it lifted my grade up about 6%. Quiet and monotone, but knows his stuff.

I'm usually pretty good at school, but this class is kicking my behind. Don't take it unless you love reading 20 hours a week for one class and learning about things that aren't on the test. It's not a good class.

I loved Dr. Vehrs' class. He wrote the textbook that he uses (which is exceptionally well-written, in my opinion) and all of the answers to the quizzes and tests come from the book. That being said, it's still difficult because there's so much information. Sometimes his lectures are pretty dry, but the course material is fascinating.

People are dumb. Best teacher I've had at BYU. I even switched from Davidson to Vehrs. He offers 25 points of extra credit, so I ended up with over 100% in the class. He wrote his own book, which has summary points and questions at the end of each chapter which he uses for quizzes and tests. His tests are completely multiple choice now!!! Take him.

This course was the most difficult class I ever took at BYU. I have taken Anatomy, Stats, accounting... nothing was more difficult. The reason? Dr. Vehrs teaches some good material, and the course book teaches a lot, but the exam material is more in depth than what is taught, and requires the student to expound on what is taught in order to pass.

Be forewarned. This class, as mentioned, is extremely difficult. I would tell anyone to take from another professor. He expects you to memorize his wording exactly for quizzes and tests. He is very smart, but very condescending to students. He is not helpful at all.The TAs are who saved me in this class. He lectures out of his own book, line by line.

A very nice, very smart guy, but I found the class extremely difficult with an obscene amount of specific memorization to his liking. The concepts are fascinating, but beware, your responses to each quiz and test must be perfectly exact to get them correct. The TA's are very helpful. I found his quizzing/teaching style often condescending.

Highly recommend taking this class from him. Not a hard class at all to get an A if you go to class and take notes. I barely read the textbook and ended the class with a 99%. Super smart and knows physiology well! He is particular in free response answers but they are the answers he gives in class lectures. Go to TA reviews!!
