I was nervous coming into this class, but Dr. Gaiser made it an enjoyable experience. Lab was easy, and there are five tests including the final. He will drop your lowest test, including the final (which is not comprehensive). Take good notes, work the problems he assigns even though they aren't for a grade, and you should make an A.

Theres a reason his classes fill up so fast--Dr. Gaiser is the best physics prof at UCA. Go to all lectures/take notes notes bc he doesn't use ppts or post anything on BlackBoard. There are 5 tests including the (non comprehensive) final, and a lab grade. Drops 1 test, lab gets out early. Physics is a HARD class, but he easily the best prof for it

He's just an ol hippy I think. This was my favorite class this semester. Lab is mandatory but he lets you out early and its easy. I would def recommend him!!!

I had to miss a lab due to my grandpa's funeral. I came to him ahead of time to see if I could make it up or attend a different lab he taught for the same course. He refused and gave me a 0 for that lab. Compared tests afterwards with study partners. Sometimes we messed up at the same point and the partial credit was always different. HORRIBLE PROF

I think he is alright, its very hard to follow him because you don't really know if he is saying something important or leading into something important. His teaching style is hard to get used to. But the nice thing is that lab is easy as long as you go you get credit and there are no reports. His tests are hard even if you go to class and study.

His class isn't easy but if your confused he's willing to help before or after class. His test are 4 to 5 open response questions. If it's during lecture, you have to work quickly. If he's feeling generous, it'll be in lab. Lab is equivalent to one test score. If you show up and do the work you'll make an A in lab. He drops your lowest test score.

find his old tests, he recycles questions. gets off on tangents very easily. i didnt like him, but thats me personally. i feel like he didnt properly equip his students with problem solving strategies, he just likes hearing himself talk. its a self-study class, you can do your best but you really need the old tests. good luck!

I enjoyed him and he was always helpful if you showed interest. No cell phones. His teaching style is hard to get used to. Sometimes I didn't know if he was writing down something important or segueing into something actually important. He could change moods on a dime, but was usually a pleasant person. He could skip simple math steps sometimes.

Brilliant, engaging guy. Insanely hard tests. He assigns homework, but the tests will not necessarily resemble it in any way. The labs are easy, and weighed to boost your grade. If you're a math genius, you'll probably have an easy time. If you're everybody else (most of the population), I'd recommend taking someone else just due to the tests.

I took Dr Gaiser for Collage Phys 1 and Dr Menon for college Phys 2. I cannot recommend Dr Gaiser. He knows ALOT about physics and is an interesting guy, but not a very good teacher. he is moody and doesn't always want to explain concepts to the class. Take someone else if you want to get an A.

He is super hard he teachers way fast. He will help you after class but sometimes he's moody and wont help and then when he does he works it for you so you don't really get it. He's rude and his test are hard !!

Comment:

Dr. Gaiser is the best teacher I've taken since I've been in college. I went into physics dreading it and he made this class extremely interesting. Some people think he's hard but if you do the homework you should be fine. And he's always willing to help. Super smart guy with a great sense of humor. I actually loved listening to his lectures.

He is a good guy. Very interesting with a great sense of humor. He makes physics, which is not an easy subject, understandable if you just apply yourself. The labs are EXTREMELY helpful in explaining the material, and they are short - you NEVER stay in lab the whole time. I would recommend Dr. Gaiser to anyone wanting to take Physics.

Physics is hard, period. If you are lazy you will never pass this class. Dr. Gaiser believes in concepts not details. Go to his office hours! Quizzes are bonus. Labs build on lectures. Want to be on his good side? Try telling him a joke.

Jack Gaiser is an illustrious man. I think he’s a great lecturer, very helpful, and looks great in a pair of jeans. What more could you want in a professor?

The class is hard in general. At times his lectures are hard to understand but if you need extra help Dr. Gaiser will definitely help you until you understand it. There are 5 exams and a final. He will drop the lowest exam grade. There are also 100 points for lab. You will definitely have to study extra for this course.
