Professor Goodine was an absolutely wonderful english professor, as someone who loves literature and writing, this class was an amazing way to start my college years. Her feedback on essays was in depth and extremely insightful, I feel her class was very valuable in terms of structuring our writing to be assured success on all papers in the future.

She wasn't available i would email her constantly and her responses would take quite a while. When respectfully arguing about an essay grade she didn't email me back and entered my final grade in without consulting with me. I even quoted parts of my essay that she said i didn't include. i wouldn't take her again.

Most assignments involve the textbook. If you do not understand the story she will go over it during class for clarification. She collects journals which are thoughts about the story assigned the next day. During the exam be sure to explain things in detail and you should be fine. The work is not hard as long as you read the book.

Not sure why everyone likes her so much, Yes the class is easy, but if she grades funny. With a plus or minus, instead of points. some ppl would have 2 minuses and get an A on a paper and i would have no minuses and get a B on the paper. I had a 4.0 gpa till her. i got a B in her class. idk how. I would not recommend

I took her honors ENG 111 as an 18 y.o. back in the Fall of 1996. I am more of a science person, but I wanted to challenge myself by taking a difficult writing course. I found her very helpful, accommodating, and understanding of students who are not naturally good at writing. The class was very challenging for me, but I learned a lot.

Dr. Goodine is a great English teacher ( not b/c shes an easy grader or because she curves grades but b/c she is a fair grader and a great clear instructor). Do everything she assigns , and obv. show up to class, and you are theoretically gauranteed a B . Put a little effort in to essays and you'll have an A.

Dr. Goodine was a good professor. Do your readings and you should be fine. I found her not very open to certain out-of-the-box views on some of the works though. She liked to interpret the works the way she saw them and while it was probably the "correct" way I would have enjoyed the class more if she gave a little bit more room for creativity.

I took her for 111 Honors. A great professor! It's not an easy class but if you do the work and pay attention you'll do well. She gives a lot of opportunities to get feedback on papers. Fantastic professor!

I really enjoyed her class, most of the time was spent on class discussion of the readings. Her portfolio style is helpful, especially if you're a procrastinator. She's very willing to help outside of class time.

Dr. Goodine possesses a great knowledge of the English language, but never comes off as snobby and is always open to others' interpretations. Her portfolio style of grading is very beneficial: students turn in drafts of essays for feedback well before a grade is assigned. She is very accommodating and happy to help outside class hours.

The portfolio style could be useful; however, she offers little useful feedback. Otherwise, class is spent talking about feelings and how semi-colons aren't necessary because its hard punctuation. It may just be my opinion, but I thought an honors course would be much more intellectually stimulating.

The best professor I've ever had. She's honestly changed my view of literature and helped inspire me as a writer (I've actually taken her for four English classes). She actually requires thought which I loved.

Overall great professor. Her World Literature is class is really interesting. She has lots of reading assignments can be challenging and time consuming though. Goodine is definitely good at finding new creative ways to make class fun. Lots of discussion & sharing of opinions about the readings, but it helps make the class not boring. Take her!

Nice and helpful. Sometimes, it's hard to tell what she wants in a paper. She grades papers more on beautiful flowing speech than structure and grammar. Classes had variety, we read stories and poems, talked in groups, and watched a movie. Overall, great teacher.

She's awesome. The nicest and most helpful professor I've had yet. She makes every class fun with peer review exercises and other editing exercises. Don't be intimidated by her honors course, grading for the entire class consisted of only three essays, which she allows us to edit three times before a final grade (makes it easy to get a high grade)

Dr. Goodine renewed my love of the English language. I took her ENG 111 and 112 Honors sections over 5 years ago. These classes were such a wonderful break from my degree core classes. I loved analyzing the literature, doing peer reviews, and writing papers. Her feedback was extremely helpful. I'm now an English major working on my BA.

Ms. Goodine is awesome! If you love reading and discussing lit, this is a class for you. There is a lot of reading to do. Make sure you do all the readings, and if you sometimes can't, make sure you know the main characters and events. She's very funny, I love her sence of humor. She makes English language even more beautiful.
