Jeff was overall a great guy. I am not at all interested in communications as a whole but Jeff consistently made the class interested. Attendance wasn't mandatory but I never wanted to skip! Definitely one of my favorite professors at Cornell

Agreed that he's overrated. Funny but showy. Spent so much time on tweets and the 2450 cup competition that he didn't teach much. Seemed comfortable with the psych portion of the class but not with the other 2/3. He was incredibly disorganized (readings changed, said there would be extra cred when there wasn't). Easy class though

Had Hancock for Six Pretty Good Books. Great professor, very contemporary subject matter. Knows his stuff and open to new ideas and views. Likes to incorporate discussion into lectures and connect real-life scenarios to class topics. Also quite witty, funny and upbeat.

Good prof, but overrated. His class was interesting at times, but extremely boring at others. Prof Hancock is a pretty good lecturer, but he can be unclear and vague sometimes, and also focuses a lot of silly, gimmicky-y stuff. He's friendly, helpful and makes an effort to talk to a lot of students in class, even though it was a pretty big class

Hands down the best Professor I have ever had (or heard of for that matter) at CU. He is extremely witty, intelligent, and extraordinarily helpful. In terms of teaching, he is very funny, engaging, and makes somewhat dull material exciting. He really forges relationships easily with students and will go to bat for those he knows well. Great person!

I randomly stumbled upon this class the night before Coursenroll started, and was ecstatic when I found this class was so much fun! I actually played World of Warcraft for HW once. Prof. Hancock uses a lot of real-life application for this class so that you can best understand the concepts he teaches, but he does it in an enjoyable way.

Comment:
Boring class where memorization, not comprehension, is the only key to getting a good grade. The class was bloated with too many students. The occasional funny moments in lecture are insufficient to compensate for his complete incompetence in teaching what you need to know. The readings are exceedingly boring/outdated, and oh, Facebook.
