Comment:

Dr. Katz is my absolute favorite. I had her this past fall for 452 and you would be crazy not to take take her. She provides in depth feedback on rough drafts for the papers (like 3 pages handwritten suggestions), and works with you until you get the material. She wants you to be successful and she's in your corner 100% of the way. Sweetest person!

Dr. Katz is one of my favorite professors at Geneseo. She is a wonderful person and she gives great lectures. Her feedback on papers is very helpful as well. Take a class with her; I highly doubt you'll regret it.

Dr. Katz is really the light of the psychology department. She has such a great heart and a caring soul. Her lectures are ALWAYS interesting and she prepares well for them. The readings are long but usually amazing and you must read for the daily quizzes (easy if you read!). Her tests are specific but if you participate in class they're manageable!

Katz is a great professor and is clearly passionate about what she does. This class required a lot of reading and the tests were very specific, but she's a very forgiving grader.

She is incredibly entertaining especially with a topic like Human Sexual Behavior. The readings can get lengthy but if you put the time into them, they can be incredibly interesting. She also goes over them in class. She really wants people to do well and like her class so she gives study guides which are helpful but her tests are extremely hard

I took this class online over the first six-weeks of summer 2015. I like that Dr. Katz took the time to meet with her online students before the summer began. I do not see her as a "bully" at all (as it states in the post following this one, however, my only interaction with her was once before the summer began and by email.

I know Dr. Katz gets rave reviews, but I found her passive-aggressive. As the semester progressed, she essentially tried to bully me out of the class. Very rude and unprofessional.

Comment:

Katz has a passion for Clinical Psyc, and you can see that in each lecture. This class would have been an easy A if I was good at time management and test preparation. Her study guides are titanic! Despite that, she is super nice, helpful, and understanding. I would take 352 with her if I could. One of the best in the Psyc department at Genny.

Comment:

Daily quizzes mean you have to do the reading and come to class. Quizzes range from easy to impossible. Makes an hour long class go by in seconds. Clear expectations for papers. Tough tests, similar to how tough some of the quizzes can be. Great lecturer, really funny and nice outside of class.

She appears fine, funny and helpful unless...she doesn't like you. I was lucky and did very well but in my opinion, those she doesn't like will receive subtle jabs and nasty, pointed comments. You know the kind, where no matter what you say and how you say it they will find a way to criticize. Better hope she likes you - or else!

This prob. won't mean much along w/ so many great comments, but she's not as great as she seems. Comes off as funny & approachable. Usually she is. But in class she shows her personal biases, even if they offend students. Not going into details, but I feel uncomfortable around her now, as she literally criticized EVERY ASPECT of who I am in class.

I couldn't have asked for a better professor for my 352. Dr. Katz is an intelligent, passionate and extremely fair person. She really wants everyone to do well. Come to class and DON'T PROCRASTINATE and you will do well and learn a lot!

The class is very difficult but Dr. Katz is extremely helpful. I suggest getting any questions clarified in the beginning so that you can keep up with learning SPSS. She responds to emails but for papers I also recommend going to office hours or making an appointment.

I've had Dr. Katz for 2 classes, and she's one of my favorite professors. I've never met a professor who cares so much about her students, not just academically, but in their lives, careers, and futures. I can't describe how much extra help and guidance I have received from her. She's also a great teacher... funny and engaging.

I have never met a more caring prof.! She's an awesome teacher too. You never want to miss class because you are always doing something fun. The tests are difficult and you need to study but it is easy to do well in the class.
