Comment:

Its a lot of memorization but any foreign language is. Serafina gives homework almost everyday but if you cant figure something out we go over it in class! She is really understanding. Easily my favorite professor.

Comment:

Although Serafina is personable & fosters interest in the language/culture, the class was severely unstructured which limited my ability to understand course material. Doesn't follow a syllabus & due dates for assignments/tests are rarely communicated clearly. I'd recommend taking a different instructor if this is your first time taking Italian.

She is truly such an awesome teacher. I had so much fun in her class. If you care about learning the language and participate in class, you will get an A.

Comment:

Very chill, adorably genuine. Serafina definitely goes easy on us. She does try her best to fill in the gaps of our italian knowledge (especially grammar) and she is very detailed when she grades all the papers you turn in. Go through them later--you'll learn little things that can improve your writing incrementally.

Serafina is a very nice and funny person. She smokes a cigarette while she rides her moped to class everyday. Kind of the stereotypical Italian teacher. She is understanding and honestly a pretty good teacher. The class however is incredibly difficult. If you miss class you are extremely behind and there is a lot of work. But she's pretty good

Serafina is singlehandedly the most caring professor I've had at OU. She really cares about her students and treats everyone equally. Unfortunately her grading style is very odd in my opinion for a beginner's language course. I also had to self teach a majority of the material and use outside sources to learn the material.

Loved this woman, became like a fun grandmother to everyone in her class. Treated us with respect and genuinely loved to teach us about her language. Class is pretty easy. If you show her you're at least trying a little, she'll cut you a lot of slack.

Serafina is a fantastic professor! She's very laid back- like most Italians. Good sense of humor and likes to chat (even smoke) with her students. I would recommend her for Intermediate levels and above because she doesn't do the best job at explaining new grammatical concepts. Wonderful lady!

I loved Serafina's class. She makes a very laid-back atmosphere for learning and she is very helpful. She also teaches a lot about the Italian culture as well. Fun lady! Great teacher!

If your an language major, this is your easy class for you, if not, have fun studying hard everyday. Expect to listen to conversation of Italian of other students. The amount of learning is based on student responses. I did not like this class personally b/c too much time of studying the material plus grammer, another world for me.
