Despite what everyone says, she puts you in the best position to pass. Many test questions come right out of hw and she curves every test. (last test a 54 was a c) and she is the only calc 2 prof. I heard of that allows formula sheets for tests. She dropped a whole test and as long as you do well on the final, you pass. Over all I really liked her

she made it much harder than it had to be. i understood the concepts but she is so specific in the way she wants answers that i got a c+.

she leaves the room for every single quiz, exam, and even the final. her questions are straight from the hw, just altered a little. she gives probably the largest curves on her tests in UCF math history... got a 46 on an exam and it was almost a C. Didn't study much and still got a B- as final grade. take her over anyone else.

Doesn't teach proofs, just methods. Hard grader, insists on a certain presentation of answers. Not always helpful during office hours. Quizzes from HW, usually hardest problem. Allowed lots of cheat sheets on tests.

She does leave the room for test and weekly quizzes. Allows formula sheets too! Apparently she has a brilliant child who knows calc 2 like its nobodies business. Seriously, if shes your last resort you'll live...with a C like I did haha. Shes nice.

Dr. Ren leaves the room during her tests, quizzes, and even the final. This is very frustrating because many people cheat on tests and the exams are curved. If you have ethics and don't cheat, this means that your grade will be impacted by other people cheating. Her grading is very strict as she expects you to use her "proper mathematical notation"

Is very clear on how to work out problems. She is very strict on how you write everything though. Follow her format and you'll do fine. We got 2 pages notes (front and back) for every test, 7 total on the final. Quizzes are straight from the HW and test questions are very similar.

she's cool. you know exactly what might be on the quizzes and her exam grading is very generous. you can pull a passing grade and only understand the material a little. i recommend for calc 2 over any other instructor.

Nice teacher, weekly quizzes that can bring up your grade. Doesn't assign that much homework problems. Test q's are almost idenitical to your homework/quiz problems

Comment:

She is a very great teacher, her style usually consists of more examples then proofs. She has weekly quizzes but they are easy if you do the homework and the tests usually come from homework and quizzes. A really good teacher if you don't want tons of proofs thrown at you and want to know how to apply the theorems to do the problems.

She is a very nice lady. There is a quiz every week, 3 tests and a final. As long as you do the homework and study it before each quiz you will do awesome, the q's are exactly from the HW. Dr. Ren's DiffEQ class is the best! She makes the material concise and to the point, and doesn't bombard you with theory or proof. The class is very straightforward: a quiz a week and a test roughly per chapter. Huge curve on grades, and a fair grader if you follow her format and understand the material.

Dr. Ren is great. She has a quiz every week but it is directly from the homework, as are her tests (3). The final is comp. but each test you can have MANY formula sheets. By far the best prof. at UCF! Easy class if you do homework!!!

She is a good professor. She does a lot of examples and makes sure you understand it before going forward with more material. Her quizes are once a week and they are just problems from the homework and her tests are pretty easy, but she lets you have like 2 pages of equation sheets for every test. So the first has 2, the next 4, and so on.

I had no problems with the professor. I had her for mac2312 and 2313 and did really well. her tests are alot easier than other teachers, and curves tremendously. she writes everythin u need to kno on the board, so as long as u study and keep up like a good colege student should, u'll be fine!

Worst teacher i have ever had at UCF. Material really isnt that hard but the teacher makes the class almost unbareable! she is rude and mean. If you dont understand the concept the first time, she will not go over it again and she takes off points even if you get the problem right.

Worst teacher i have ever had at UCF. The most rude teacher and unwilling to help of any other teacher i have had. She gives partial credit but she takes off points if you are actually smart and can skip steps, which totally blows. Dont take her if you can help it!!!

An all around OK teacher, her accent is bareable. I took calc in highschool so the class was pretty easy, but most people were lost.. she only explains problems one way, and doesnt do many of them. However she does give you every oppourtunity to make a good grade. Quizzes come straight from homework

She is so nice and helpful. Short assignments, followed by quizzes taken from the assignments so you keep up. Tests are hard, but her curve is really generous -- the average is about B+. She's not an exciting lecturer, but she will keep explaining if anyone admits to not getting it.

She has an accent, but she will go out of her way to help you during office hours. She let's you use a formula sheet. She curves the tests quite a bit and as a result it is not to difficult to get an A or B. If you can get through her accent, she does explain concepts quite well.
