Jim is a really great teacher. the class (to me) is a little hard and i wasn't interested in it at all but he made it fun and was very helpful if i wasn't understanding something. we had minimal homework and he dropped our two lowest test grades. if you work with him, he'll work for you! take HIS class!! :0)

The class was hard and Mr. Hester was at times like a drill instructor, but he?s nice guy, and like boot camp after it?s over your batter than when you started. I recommend that anyone who needs CIV 110 take Hester.

Jim is a great guy and has a lot of practical knowledge. I really enjoyed his class and I learned quite a bit. We were a test class for online testing and there were some problems with the tests themselves, however we were lucky enough to drop 2 entire test grades. Wish we had some homework assignments (any at all) for more practice. Go Yankees!

Jim knows his stuff! His classes are difficult, but it is difficult material. He has always been helpful with me and even influenced me to switch to civil. I wish he assigned homework problems in hydro, but in all...my favorite instructor at wake tech!
