Online class could have been better set up, but I give them credit as they seem to be trialing some labs (a little to late). Online classes w/labs are rather hard to build I am sure but they (TAs and Prof) could have fine tuned. TAs and Profs don't like to me bothered. Tenured professor TAs doing the work Easy class put in the work.

easiest "science and lab" class you can ever take, slightly consuming labs but he drops two of your lowest scores. Easy A!

Easy class. Labs are the only thing that is time consuming but none took longer than an hour to complete. Homework is done in 15 mins. Easy A, great class to take if you are trying to fill you "science with a lab" criteria.

Great professor. He has a one question quiz at the end of each class, easy if you pay attention. This is an exam based class. Show up to class and you will be fine.

Topics were very interesting and engaging, however I did not like that the only opportunities for points in this course were tests and then quizzes given every class that added up to a test grade.

Extremely smart and interesting to listen to. Very opinionated and he doesn't take any bulls. study hard and study often. Meeting with him after hours is a good idea because he seems to be a little intimidating in class. trust me. And the best part about the class was the final that could only help you. I actually learned something in this class

Only has 3 exams, difficult to determine what will be on them. Said he was going to have attendance quizzes for extra points but only had 3 the whole semester. If you want to get a good grade take good notes and pay attention every class, and go to his office hours if you don't understand a concept.

Dr. Haas' Environmental Systems/Cycles was an awesome introductory course to material that any Environmental Studies major must know. The delivery of the material and the course content was soundly accomplished. The only critique I can offer is that Dr. Haas, even if justified considering his students' sentiment, was too condescending.

Very intelligent individual. Very opinionated. Interesting to listen to. I am not a geology major by any means, but this class was my favorite of the semester because I loved to listen to Haas talk about evolution. He was passionate about it. Go to class, pay attention, ask questions and you?ll do fine.

Very opinionated, but really knows his stuff. His lectures are impersonal, doesn't interact with class at all, he might as well be lecturing to a brick wall. But the material is very interesting. VERY HARD, but if you study his powerpoints you will do fine. Don't need the book.

Only three exams and that's your grade, a total of 90 questions. He covers so much material and is not clear about what you should really pay attention to for the exams. I also found him very opinionated and did not enjoy his class. All he does is lecture no student involvement.

Haas is a good guy and is very very smart. The exams are super hard tho, and he gives no study guide. Best advice: just follow along in lecture and really try to understand the "story" of evolution, it is very compelling. His slideshows are online, but you should still take notes. Only 3 exams...then optional final exam.....but all the exams we

He really knows what he is talking about during his lecture. Everyday, we go over Slide shows and he explains everything pretty well. HE REALLY WANTS YOU TO ASK QUESTIONS! HE will make the exams harder if you dont ask questions cuz he gets pissed. The tests are veryyyy hard tho, especially since he doesnt provide any sort of study guide at all.
