Professor Godoy is an amazing professor, they way he teaches his class really gets your attention, he is hilarious, caring, the homework is really easy, tests are not hard but make sure you read carefully cause one word can get you the wrong answer. Highly recommend this teacher, I would love to take another class with him in the future.

Comment:

Amazing professor. Made me love literature even more. He is super passionate about the subject and does an amazing job teaching it. The exams are all T or F, you definitely have to pay attention to small details because he likes tricking students with the questions. Do the readings and the questions and you will definitely pass the class.

He repeats the T / F questions every semester, and a group of students save the graded papers and later share them with their friends. From now on he can change the testing method and draft multiple choice questions, or begins to grade essays, which is more time-consuming. If he does all that, he may deserve better ratings.

Comment:

Professor Godoy is a very enjoyable professor who tells you exactly what he wants from his class. Three texts, non-cumulative, one reading per class meeting (usually short), one quiz (one question) per reading (very easy). He also collects the class notes, so take notes when he talks. SUPER FUNNY. Loved his class.

I would like to see how the literary theory is applicable to major works of Spanish literature, since the M.A. program is short and expensive, we should be prepared for more advanced studies or for teaching lower levels. It seems that this mandatory class is a contradiction in terms, or a useless requirement that needs to be revised.

He does not go over papers, so you can repeat the same mistake, and he won't even notice. He is not a well-trained scholar and has no encyclopedic knowledge as some of the students have claimed. He does not teach the Spanish classics. A major waste of time.

El profesor Godoy es un profesor chistoso y muy buena honda, cada martes y jueves I looked forward to going to class and learning. Lo que no me gustó es que los exámenes eran de verdadero y falso. También que no usa blackboard. Así que no sabes tu grado hasta al final del semestre.

He is a great lecturer and is very funny. Strict on attendance and is not clear on what he wants for presentations until after you've done it. Also very tough to get ahold of, he explicitly said he wants to be somewhere else and doesn't want to be bothered. Doesn't use blackboard, no way of knowing your grade until its up on webportal, tough.

You have to go to class. This class was a ton of work, but he's an incredible professor who goes above and beyond to make sure both the native and nonnative Spanish speakers get the chance to learn and participate in class. Take his classes, you won't regret it.

Best professor I've had in my 4 years at state. Truly has a passion for learning and teaching. Makes learning very enjoyable. Every semester I take one of his classes. My college experience would be empty without his teachings. I highly recommend him.

Easy grader & “passion” professor (I understand why many students want to crash his class). In this class: daily quizzes, daily homeworks, 3 regular exams (all T/F), 1 oral presentation & 1 summary paper. I feel that each readings gives important “life lessons”. Godoy’s lecture brings the literature to life like "magic". Read, Read, Read! TAKE HIM!

Professor Godoy is bright and amazing! He brings life to the readings. Godoy challenges students to think beyond what's imaginable. Without doubt he is your best choice for Spanish Literature! P.S he is a very approachable professor. I look forward to taking more courses with him :)

This has been by far my favorite class at San Diego State. Professor Godoy is very knowledgeable in what he teaches. He makes the class interesting and makes you not want to miss it. You'll share a good laugh and learn more than just about the readings, you'll take the good lessons in life Godoy will teach you.

Professor Godoy is repetitive; he knows his theories but does not apply them to the readings. We think a theory should be good for something. He lacks energy and enthusiasm; he is not the same he used to be. He seems to be worried about something else but the class. A major waste of time.
