She is a really tough grader and asks for a lot from a 101 class, her lectures are not relevant to her tests, she gives five "quizzes" where you need to know everything from the chapters to do well, a lot of information to learn on your own, group project- its semester long and she grades it really tough- also a participation portfolio don't take

Do not take unless you are majoring in Political Science. It is a very rigorous class that has 5 quizzes, a large group presentation, a several participation activities. The class is very interesting but is a lot of work for a 100 level class.

very nice teacher, very knowledgeable for sure, but that sometimes can get confusing because of the load of information. legitimate tests, not too many. doesn't give breaks for 2 1/2 hr class, but always very helpful and good about emails. Group project isn't too bad, you can choose topic. recommended

very easy grader! but very unclear teacher. even her syllabus does not give you much info.if you read the book and look at the online quizzes and you will do fine. theres one group project thats really easy.EASY class just make sure she clarifies.

She was pretty cool. I can see why people gave her bad reviews because it isn't an easy class, but most of the test comes from lecture so if you attend most of the time, you shouldn't have any problems. I actually liked her lecture style, very laid back and not a ton of notes. Can be a tough course, but not too bad.

Half of the class is spent on politics today and the other half is an overview of the book. To do good on the tests, you have to STUDY HARD and read the book. Lectures will not help you too much Group project is just annoying to get everyone together. Overall, it's average.

She is not clear about tests, she expects you to know everything in the chapter. She throws her opinion into everything. She is very knowledgeable but she is all over the place. It was hell for 3 months. DONT TAKE HER

She's a better teacher in day lite..in the nite class, she was tired and so was the class, so her clarity was not so high. The tests were owkay and the group project was meh. but she's a good prof. i'd recommend her

Easy teacher. Got the point across well and didn't ask for too much from the students. The group project was a pain but she was a fair grader. You don't have to do hardly any of the reading and the test questions are pulled from the lecture and online quizes from the book website. If you study the quizes and take decent notes, you will be fine.

I strongly disliked this professor. Shes liberal to the point of questionable communist, which is to be expected of polisci teachers... but this one is recruiting for the resurrection of the USSR. Avoid like the plague.

Politics and the press was one of the worst choices I made at Loyola. Her grading is questionable and she is unclear about assignments and what is on quizzes. I would definitely never take her again and would never reccomend her to anyone!!

Not a bad class. She tries to make the class as fair as possible. The tests are difficult because she makes you put what you learned into use. The group project can be a pain because trying to get 4 to 5 people to cooperate can be difficult. Not a bad class if you are willing to show up for class if not it will be very difficult!

Her tests are very hard. she expects you to take what you have been taught and apply it to real life instances. Also you have to do a group project which sucks since you have to work with people you have never met. Her lectures are interesting if you like politics, if you dont they tend to drag on. Only take her classes if u like political science.

The class would be better with a diff. teacher. She's nice but doesn't have an organized teaching style. Grade based on 3 tests (which aren't on anything she talks about and questions that seem to be easy but are extremely confusing) & a group project (the worst part of the class esp. if you're with people who don't do any work). Avoid if you can.

Good teacher. 2 exams: midterm & final (both essay) & one group project. Come to class, exams from notes & book (i did minimal reading) & u can get a good grade. If u are a good essay-exam taker u will do fine (exams take a little critical thinking & analyzing), group project pretty easy. get on her good side by participating & u'll be fine

She's scary! I was afraid to ask her questions even though I did a few times and though my head would be bitten off. I thought the class was SUPER boring. I had trouble going to class. I guess if you pay attention, read the books, and take notes you'll do fine. I was so unmotivated I couldn't do any of those. :)
