Was a tough class but i made it. She really coached me and she is very caring. I would recommend this class if you are a strong writer or you are willing to work hard.

Like the post below, I had the "new" prof. Garcia and she is NOTHING like the previous comments. She is not exactly clear on her prompts -- as she does not exactly give you one. Many people during my semester dropped her class. Though if you speak to her & get on her good side, she MAY bump your grade. Not worth the hassle tho. DO NOT take.

There's a new Prof. Garcia in Baruch and she's nothing like the former one. We had three essays for her class, but some people had 20 drafts in total. She will make you write and rewrite, give you feedback but once you hand in your "final" she will hand it back covered in red, or say that your essay is so bad, she won't even grade it. DON'T TAKE IT

By far the best professor I had at Baruch. If you don't enjoy reading and writing, probably not the professor for you as she does give a lot of work. But it's all very interesting and you learn a lot. She even sat down with me and helped me figure out where to go on my trip to Europe!

I LOVE HER! A lot of work, ofcourse, yet, in the end, you feel like you learned something not only pertaining to english, but life as well. assigned great books to read. get to know her, she is awesome.

She is so kool, I took the class in sum 03, I actually looked forward to the class, all that matters to her is that you give your best and pay attention, trust me if you don't she will know. Overall, She is cool, like a big sister.

Let me tell you...she is not a hard prof., but you will be writing more than you think possible. There is a lot of work, if you don't like work, then I suggest you don't take her as a prof. She made me question the way I perceive things. GREAT!!!

She's very nice and if you can handle a paper every two weeks is a great professor. If you mess up on a paper she lets you do a rewrite and is very eager to help you do so.
