Comment:

Dr. Schwab may come off cold but wants her students to succeed. Two quizzes and a final, all of which she gives review sheets for. Couple of required outside events you have to attend and write responses to and a research paper as well. Grades all writing assignments pretty easy. Not too hard to get an A or A-. Pretty good option for Art History.

Comment:

She comes across like she is going to be a really hard grader, but she's not. She is so knowledgeable in her field and the class is interesting. There's about 3 large quizzes that take some preparing for, but she gives you a very clear outline of what will be on them. There's a few short papers. You have to put in some work, but it's not a hard A.

Comment:

Really good teacher and fairly easy. She only had like 2 quizzes and a final project and the quizzes are super easy (about 20 minutes max). Just need to make sure that you take good notes during her lectures but other than that it's a pretty easy A.

Professor Schwab makes you work for your grade. I would say the hardest part about this class is staying awake during lectures and doing the end of class project. She outlines the quizzes for you and wants you to get a good grade.

Professor Schwab is a great teacher. This class is an easy A, but you do have to work for that grade. She wants you to do well and she is not a tough grader at all. The semester consists of 2 quizzes, a research paper and a final. Before the quizzes and final she gives you a review sheet that is pretty much the same as the tests.

Professor Schwab is a great professor who is very passionate about art history. Class is lecture based with 3 quizzes and 1 final along with a research paper and a few events outside class. The tests are easy review sheets are exactly like it. You will have to put in work but she wants you to do well and will get an A if you do the work.

Professor Schwab is a good teacher. She can come across as intimidating and cold but the class is an easy A. Her grading is clear and she does not grade hard at all. I would recommend taking her for an easy A.

Lectures can be a little boring if you are not interested in art, but not too bad. Definitely go to class, all the info you'll have to know is covered in lecture. She also tells you exactly what you need to know for each quiz (2-3 total). One research paper, homework includes attending events and writing 1 page reflections on them.

Never took art history before this class, let me say, Dr. Schwab opened amazing doors to my newfound appreciation for art. She means business, but genuinely cares about her students. Her passion transcends into her lectures which engages all students. Has clear expectations that are standard. Get an A by study, preparing, and following directions.

You definitely have to work for an A, but if you take notes and attend her extra credit events you will be fine. There are a few mandatory 90 minute events you must attend and write a one page response about. For quizzes as long as you study and are good at writing you will be fine. She is very passionate and knowledgable about art history.

Have taken several classes with her. She can come off as cold, and yes she does mean business, but she really just wants students to fall in love with the subject. She knows her stuff and she will help you if you ask her too. Most classes have longer papers, but she is a very easy grader. I took her 3 semesters in a row and I would take her again.

Oh yes Schwab gives your a review sheet for tests, real nice, right? WRONG!!! There is so much garbage on the review sheet that isn't on the test! This class is way too much work for an intro class. btw I HATE art : )

Great professor. Made me interested in Art History. She gives you study sheets before the quiz that outlines EVERYTHING. Make flashcards, memorize everything, you'll probably get an A. :)

This is probably the best class I have taken at Fairfield. Take Prof. Schwab. She is an amazing teacher! You learn so much about art history in her class. Very interesting. Tests are right from study guide, which she goes over with you in class. If you show up, take good notes, and listen during review session, you will get an A

Such a good teacher. Gives you alot of information but only tests you on the essentials. a tad bit spacey but a quite a big whig in the art history world. def take her class. she understands it's core but still makes it interesting.

Dr. Schwab is fabulous. She is so knowledgeable and makes so many interesting connections between art and history. really willing to help and wants you to do well. amiable and not hard at all. Pay attention and you'll do fine.
