Comment:

In my two years at Assumption, this might have been my favorite course. Personally, I'm not very religious but this class was interesting & Professor Fisher is 100% the right person to teach it. She's super knowledgable, the class is very relaxed & mostly discussion based. One semester-long project for the final but it's not anything too difficult.

Comment:

Fisher for sure knows what she is talking about and she cares about her students and understands things happen. But she will not take any BS. You have to turn in your papers on time and bring your books to class she will yell at you. You will learn to think in this class.

I took her for both theo, and i loved her, she makes you put in work and really makes you think about faith and religion as a whole. doing the readings and participation is KEY. i never went to office hours but managed to get a good grade. she is a hard greater but she's worth taking, no huge papers.

You need to be willing to do work in her class. You cannot just coast through her class. I participated all the time and wrote good papers, and barely squeezed out a B-. However, you do learn a lot in her class and if you do the readings she assigns and go see her when papers are due a week before, you are guaranteed to get a B. Shes very smart

Pros: Nice Available for help Cons: Homework can take an extremely long time Extra help isn't very helpful Extremely hard grader, made worse by the fact that everything she grades is subjective so you can know everything and still get a bad grade. She gives ridiculous grades like 3.6/5 on homework. Bad for your GPA Verdict: Would not suggest

Horrible. first theology class i took and was awful. So much reading. very difficult grader. don't take t/th - way too long. every class is discussion on reading of night before. readings are so confusing and difficult. lots of writing as well. take a different professor. very helpful if you go to her office hours

Prof. Fisher is a nice lady but not the best teacher. Expect to read or have a lot of homework all the time. Her tests are written essays or short answers done in class. You do a lot of group work. She is a hard grader and seems to grade based on her opinion. 2 tests, 5 papers/annotations, and a final paper. would take someone else if you could.

too much completely useless group work that she gives so she doesn't have to do anything she says she will be there to help you but when you go and see her she doesn't help at all and then gives you worse grades then you got before

Grades some assignments with, "Weak, Satisfactory, Strong, Outstanding, etc" instead of grades so sometimes its hard to know how you are doing in the class. She is very helpful when you go see her. She grades very hard and is very particular in what she wants. She is very tough, I would not recommend this class

Prof. Fisher is extremely helpful! I met with her to discuss ideas for our first paper (she assigns three for this class) and was very helpful and specific when giving me ideas. She gives options for extra credit and is very friendly and welcoming.

Really enjoyed Professor Fisher's class. The concepts were challenging at times but through her slideshows, group activities, and assignments, she made the material easier to understand. The workload could be a lot at times, but if you are willing to work hard for your grade you will be fine! Very nice professor and always open for questions.

Really good professor. Homework was really easy to complete. Wants really specific points to her papers, but just follow what she wants and it is easy to do well. Course work isn't that hard, just a lot of concepts. realy Depends on if the student is motivated to learn about Bible or not.

Great professor! Knows what she's talking about and is very organized. She teaches the material in a way that you can see connections to other things we have done, which makes it very interesting. Work loads can be high at times (a lot of reading),which is frustrating since its a required class and an intro course, but it's worth it!

Professor Fisher is a difficult grader yet a really awesome professor. She knows what she's talking about. Your grade in her class relies mainly on your effort because tests are difficult and there's a lot of reading. Do not take her if you aren't looking for a challenge. Fisher is intellectually stimulating and has a lot of knowledge to offer.

Comment:

Tough class (for only a 100 level) but you learn a lot. The key to doing well is preparation (a lot of it) and detail. She's a tough grader but going for office hours really helps. Warm personality and makes the understanding of the material better. Participation is encouraged. (You'll find yourself wanting to participate!) 4 out of 5. RECOMMENDED
