Comment:

Señora is an amazing professor! I would 10/10 take her class again. She really cares about her students. If you miss class you will miss quite a few points daily quiz-8 attendance-6 each page of homework due-2 but she drops three attendance grades. She is willing to work with you if you talk to her if you are going to miss class.

While very strict, Profesora Stephenson is very fair, helpful, and upfront about what she expects from you. She is also fun and engaging in class. She does have DAILY homework assignments, which are short, and they r extremely helpful for language retention. She is willing to come in before or after to class to help answer any questions you have

I loved Señora's class! Yes, homework everyday! but there's a schedule & you can finish work early. There are lots of points around 1500 by the end so missing 1 day is only 10, not much. I sent my homework by email when I had to miss to get the points. If you ask she can be very helpful but she wont do the work for you. I would take her again.

There is homework due every single day and she does not respond to emails. She doesn't accept late work or absences. Her tests are so easy but there is a quiz every day when you walk into class and paper homework due every day as well. If you don't go to class you miss 10 points. Online homework due every single night including holidays.

Very intimidating at first! A lot of people misunderstand her methods. She forces you to go outside your comfort zone. The entire course you will feel like you r failing. When you start to test you realize you actually know what you are doing! She will take the time to tutor if necessary! She loves seeing you succeed and will help any way she can

I've taken 4 semesters of college-level Spanish at JCCC. Every other semester I received an A, but with her as a Prof., I barely got a C. She has homework due EVERY day of the semester, 7 days a week, even homework due on Thanksgiving! Her class does not foster a learning environment at all- I almost stopped taking Spanish. strick and unfriendly.

All I'll say about her is that she is absolutely hilarious and you'll look forward to going to her class everyday, which is good because you need to. If you don't go to class you wont get a quiz and no participation points. Fair warning If you already know Spanish past present tense do not take her class. She makes you stay on unit, nothing else.

She does not teach what she expects you to know. She gives homework on things she has never taught before. NEVER gives any grace on having to miss just a single class because you are puking and sick. She makes you feel dumb. She does not answer your questions. She expects you to make Spanish your entire life. This class ruined my entire semester.

Sra Stephenson was a great professor. I was taking Elementary Spanish 1, and I had little experience with the language. She used D2L religiously. Gave resources for first time students that were very beneficial. Short quizzes every morning. It sucked that the homework was online. If I had taken the time to study more, I would've done very well.

Sra. Stephenson was by far my favorite Spanish teacher at JCCC! She loves what she does, and wants to make sure that each student fully grasps the material. If you show up to class and pay attention, you'll have no problem! Also, she has a great sense of humor which keeps the class on its toes.

Sra Stephenson is an incredible professor. Enthusiastic, funny, (illustrations- you'll see), and helpful if you ask. I learned more in her class than any other. (I've had 4 Spanish levels now). Exam outlines go home to prepare. Come to class, do the work, and HAVE FUN!! Give respect to get respect from this amazing lady. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!

Profesora Stephenson understands the way that students learn and is very interested in making sure that students understand what is going on in class. She also does a great job of explaining cultural reasons for finicky grammar rules. I would definitely recommend her. For attendance--it's a foreign language. You should be showing up every day.

Class was very fun and she made the time fly by. I looked forward to coming to class and the use of the online tools helped to make homework less dreadful. I would definitely recommend this class to anybody. Sra. Stephenson is a great teacher.

She was a great choice for taking Spanish for the first time. Attendance and homework are probably the hardest things about this class. But other than that if you just participate it'll be easy for you.

Great teacher but dont do this class in the summer do it in the fall when you have a longer time to learn the chapters. I work two jobs and the only time I could do it was the moring class. If i had the time and money I would do it again in the fall. Over all make sure you study the vocab in the back and there is a quiz each morning so be prepared.

Comment:

Sra. is wonderful. THe attendance policy not so much. Advice I give is to go to class everyday no matter the situation. Be prepared to be overloaded with busy work. A lot more peer to peer interaction would have been perfect. Concentration on annunciation wouldve led to better quality spanish speakers as well. Be ready earn an A. :-)
