Comment:

Cauley is a good guy as a person. As a professor though, he fails. The Covid-19 crisis caused the class to be online. He made up ridiculously hard questions for the tests. I made an honest F on the first exam. I am not sure if he curved at the end. I just know I made a C and that was all I needed. Avoid if possible. If not, read the book.

his test are hard and can not be predicted. class average usually is below passing. does not do any examples in class. doesnt really teach anything so you have to read the text book and teach yourself.

He is AWFUL! But he does grade on participation so go to class! Class will not help but at least you can write your name on a piece of paper and turn it in for a homework/participation grade. His tests are "off the wall" literally. You will have to study the book and do the homework to get a decent grade.

He is helpful outside of class, but he doesn't give any examples in class. ME Thermo is really not that hard but tedious with lots of information. You need to understand the process of everything, but he really failed at teaching. You need to teach yourself a lot. If this was the only class I took, it would be no problem, but my time is limited

Lanier Cauley is a waste of money. He may be smart but he totally fails at teaching.He assigns coding problems but tells us that he does not know how to code. He is extremely rude when you ask a question and expects you to turn in your homework on the dot no matter what so god forbid if thunderstorms and tornados make you 3 minutes late for class

You can't ever get an answer from him, and most of the time a graded assignment on in a decent amount of time. His tests are impossible, and it seems like every class i've ever had with him the class average is lower than passing. He does care though, but if you want to be slave driven do avoid if possible...if your an ME like me though you can't.

An absolute waste of a Professor. No wonder the ME Department sucks.It rigged with "unreadable" personalities like Cauley's. Certainly one of the teachers, I regret ever knowing. No wonder his elective classes are empty. Take a tip from Dr. Donovan!

Cauley is the worst teacher i have ever taken period. I hate the fact that we have to pay good money for his class, you would be better off not having a professor and just work the assigned homework and come take the tests. FLAT OUR HORRIBLE TEACHER

Had Cauley for fluids and it was one of the hardest classes. His test are impossible to predict. Class average on first test was an 44. Avoid having him if you can. Good luck to mechinal engineers who will have him mutiple times. He does scale your final grade tremendous so you do you have a good chance of passing as long as you do your homework.

Good professor. Very interested in the student learning the material. Tests are difficult just remember the object of the game is to fail better than everyone else. No one passes a test from the goat.
