Comment:

One of my favorite profs at south. Took fluids with her. Not the easiest professor, but one of the most helpful..I enjoyed her gas dynamics more than fluids. Definitely lots of work in her classes especially in fluids, but if you want to learn something, you gotta work. Grading is fair and policy is clear. She is willing to help students.

She is not very clear in class. The homework is difficult and there is a lot of it. The tests and quizzes are straight forward as long as you can figure out the homework. Blood, sweat and tears is what it will take. Honestly I am learning it is not impossible.

A lot of people I took fluids with had a problem with her teaching style, but i like her. She corrects herself a lot which can mess u up when u are taking notes or commit something to memory. But I like her examples and i will definitely take her again. Homework is pretty demanding and tests are reasonable if u know what youre doing.

When I went to ask her questions, she didn't give me straight answers. Too many assumptions. One shouldn't have to guess at homework questions. A lot of homework. Quizzes are very easy. Tests are fair, but too lengthy.

Dr. Dougherty is a good teacher.I had her for thermo, learned alot! I struggled at first, but the SI sessions really helped. Homework returned in a timely manner, tests and solutions given back promptly. Would take her again, but alas, I'm a ChemE.

Dr. D is a very demanding teacher, but you will learn something when you leave if you put forth an honest effort into the class. Follow directions to the letter on any test/assignment, and do not be afraid to ask for help if you are struggling. Her tests always seemed rewarding if you did your part in the class. She is interested in YOUR success.

She is a nice lady but getting used to her teaching techniques can be difficult for some. I actually enjoyed this class to an extent. I am not good at coding but I learned quickly and had a good time. The only downside is that she does give a lot of busy work which can be a pain when you have other hard classes such as Thermo and what not.

You will be a slave for any class you take with this woman. For both ME analysis and ME intro I had her and I put more time into these classes than the rest of the ones in the semester combined. I also liked the computer major assignment assigned on the monday before exams...it was just lovely. All I must say is slave driver!

As always unorganized Dougherty puts off her lack of devotion and motivation on to the class. Your are basically being punished the entire semester because she is too lazy to grade your papers on time. This lady is barely qualified to teach in elementary school. Avoid her and just wait a semester to take the class with a different teacher.

ME-123 should be an easy beginning BS class. She takes this class way to seriously and makes you waste loads of time on pointless projects. You have to memorize random sections of a book for her quizes. She actually lost all of the grades for our final major project and required us to return them or we would take the hit. Avoid taking her for anyth

The most unreasonable being in existence. Tests are nothing like the homework or reviews she assigns. Average grades in the class were usually in the 50s, but she grades on a curve. She's an idiot. She used to work at NASA, but I think she just got the real engineers coffee or something like that.
