Mr.Cain is a great teacher, he really helps the students so they can pass the class. Make sure you read and keep up with the homework, but even that is easy. Sadly he is not going to be teaching for the next 2 semesters, but when he comes back take him for English 4/7.

He is by far the best english professor i have ever had. He is very helpful, he understands any student's weakness and he will do whatever he can to help strengthen that person's weakness in the class. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is taking Engl1A AND/or Engl7

Nice guy. Not a standard English class. Class description:Critical Reading & Composition. Critical reading part was met, composition on the other hand was not. Class is post your hw online for all to read talk about subject in class(ussually a political one). Not once when i was in the class did we deal with writing.other than put it in this form.

His classes (Eng. 1A & 7) felt more like a political or history class. If you dont know your history or politics well enough you will not be able to do his classes especially his English 7. He likes to deal with a lot of social issues, so be prepared to know a lot of facts about whats happening around the world n how it affects society

He was very helpful & worked w/ the students to make sure they understood it. The topic was about Politics & I was not interested at all. He's a hard grader but very nice & clear. If I wanted to talk about politics, I would have joined a Political Science class. If you're not into the topic, it's boring. If you like Politics, you'll love it.

Absolute must take teacher! The class will teach you about things that you never even thought about before. Class is basically 3 essays and some hw, but they are not hard. He is very helpful and you can talk to him anytime for help with papers.

If you think English is boring then this is the class to take because he will make you fall in love with what you study. He is extremely helpful and makes you learn instead of just cramming stuff.His class opens your mind towards so many things and you would want to come to his class on your own. GREAT teacher.... probably on of the best I have had in my entire school career... He is openminded and opens his students minds! worth taking and u learn alot. If you want a teacher that's chill & laid back, yet serious, you want to take Larry Cain. He's a happy guy, & I enjoyed attending his class. The only reason I didn't get an A in this class was because I didn't try my hardest. Still got a B! Just have a good context, and conclusion (keep asking yourself "so what?" to milk the conclusion) for essays.

very smart passionate upholder of democracy! He'll teach you things that will open up your mind and help you understand things more clearly, especially non western history, our own true history, which is not what western historians will ever really talk about. If you just open up your mind he'll grow on you.. Truly one of the last of a dying breed
