He's a great guy, very nice and helpful if you ask. He's a tough grader. I've always had trouble with English and this class is really tough for me, but I am learning a lot. I wouldn't take him again personally. I recommend to go to his office hours for questions.

Comment:

Look this guy is a GREAT guy. A tough grader though and not always very clear. Would not want to take him ever again. Use his office hours and the writing center. Just a lot of homework and reading, Be prepared for pop quizzes every week on the readings usually and get all the work done. Also I would not skip this class often, if at all.

Professor Beaston was a nice guy. He was very willing to help you out and give tips. The writing center knows how he grades and was a great help when editing papers. Follow the rubs given when writing and go to office hours and you will be fine. If you put in the effort an A is possible.

No test only writing assignments and a bunch of four point quiz's. He has his own writing style and expects you to write in his format. It is very confusing and the people in the writing center have no clue what he wants either. Follow the rubric exactly and don't plagiarize and you will pass.

His class is difficult, but if you ask for help and go to the Writing Center then it is manageable. He is willing to help and if you read directions clearly, he grades exactly what he says he is looking for. I ended his class with an A. Just do your work. Good luck!

This dude just no. I've always excelled in english and this guy makes me feel stupid. Average grade for his Assignment 1 was a 54% in my class so it isn't just me. I'm an A student and am going out of my way to not take him next semester. Good luck, freshmen.

Professor Beaston is probably the greatest and the worst professor I have ever had at PCT. He has taught me some useful methods in typing a paper. However, he grades very hard, wants you to explain "It.. They.. ect" Deducts points for "You" and contractions, and "forgets" having meetings with you. Be prepared. Perfect typing is key in his class.

He does not explain things very well, however, if you talk to him personally at office hours you are more likely to get a better understanding of things. He doesn't explain exactly what he wants in assignments until after they're graded so be sure to ask lots of questions about the assignment. Overall, his class was the most work I have ever done.

Prof. Beaston is tough, and he isn't clear about what he wants until after the assignment is due. His lectures are fun, and engaging. If he was more clear on what he wanted, I would take his class again.

I hated my class with him. He was rarely clear on assignments and I turned a revised paper in of the corrections he told me to make and received a lower grade on the final product. Such a waste of time.

I had Professor Beaston last semester. Beaston grades very hard, but he knows his stuff. Students can only miss his class a few times. He's a pretty laid back guy and likes to joke around a lot which is cool. Lectures are usually short in his class. Homework is typically assigned but isn't crazy. He guides you through all the essays but grades hard

His class was very difficult. The prompts for the papers were often too vague in my opinion. Going to his office hours to have him look over your papers will help your grade a lot! As long as you put effort into his class you will do well.

Professor Beaston was one of my favorite teachers my first semester at PCT. I recommend him if you are willing to put some effort into the work...not for those that want an easy way to get an A. He is fair in his grading and does require you to put effort into doing research and writing, but overall a great guy who helped me learn a lot.

Professor Beaston was excellent! If you are willing to do the required work, you can easily pass this class. This is a class that you need to work at, but if you put effort into it you can earn a decent grade. I learned a lot from taking this class and recommend this professor!

extremely hard grader. made us write a lot about marijuana and swore that he saw pterodactyls... and talked a lot about a pet rock. he was not helpful when questions were asked. his response was go figure it out yourself. i suggest you find another professor.

This class is crazy, Beaston is probably one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my life. He is very hard to understand and is mainly concerned with rocks. He teaches absolutely nothing about grammar yet expects it to be perfect in all essays. My only advise is to try to find a different teacher or try to figure it out on your own.
