He is very monotone and a little intimidating, but he was one of the best profs ive ever had. He takes time to thoroughly explain the material, and answers questions well. He offered so much extra credit it bumped my grade a whole letter. If you pay attention and participate, the class is a breeze. Dr. E really wants his students to succeed.

He is a terrible professor. This class is very overwhelming because when you sign up it says that you will only have to put in 5-7 hours of work a week. Then in class he said that you actually need to put in 12 hours. If you are busy during the summer, this class is NOT for you. He is very rude and will call you out and humiliate you in class.

I took his summer class for physical science and wanted to drop it from the beginning. All the quizzes are only 3 or 4 questions, so missing one or two and you end up with 80% or 66%. There is no textbook, you're only supposed to buy these packets and learn from hands on. The packets are $100-$115. He does not explain concepts well at all.

Larry is a nice guy, although he can be a very tough grader. Comparing him to the other science professors, he can be very picky on grading his tests, although I know he means well. His class is very repetitive and can be frustrating at times, but he does offer lots of extra credit opportunities and is always willing to answer your questions.

Escalada's class gets VERY repetitive and VERY long. You go through every single page in the textbook. You need to read every word in the directions otherwise he'll find some way to take away points on tests. If you can take another professor for this course I recommend it.

Nice guy, but a really boring teacher. He will take seemingly forever to explain simple concepts and assigns loads of homework. Many students often fall asleep during his lectures, and I don't blame them.

This class is the most boring class that I have ever taken. It is extremely easy and he talks in a monotone. There will be days that the entire class is asleep. I love physics but he made me not want to take another physics course ever again.

every day spend an hour discussing the material from the day before then do an hour of new stuff(very repetitive).book is wkst form and you do every single page. material is annoying because you do the same stuff over and over again.it's not hard. he goes over practice tests weds and the tests are on fri(6 tests)identical to practice tests. boring.

TERRIBLE professor. Monotone voice, does not explain the material well at all. Assumes you know certain terms and mathematical techniques so he doesn't re-explain the concepts. Lots of helpful learning tools, but none are graded so you have no idea as to how well you are understanding the material. GET A GOOD TUTOR IF TAKING HIM! or get diff. prof.

Dr. Escalada is very smart when dealing with Physics 1. He wants the students to learn the material, and he works hard to ensure everyone has an opportunity to ask questions and get the correct answers. He is very helpful, and he gives out practice exams that are almost exact copies of the exams he uses during test periods.

I disliked this professor GREATLY! He's lazy, monotone, unorganized, and he makes you do an incredible amount of busy work. His tests are confusing are docks points for ridiculous reasons. As for survival tips, make sure that you study hard for tests, and complete them THOROUGHLY. He will dock major points for little mistakes.

Well. He's a nice guy and means well, but is just... kind of... well... GOOFY! He's just weird. It is easy to get an A if you do your work however! Boring class when you're not doing experiments and he likes to go over the homework in class a LOT. Decent prof overall.

This class was very time consuming, but worth it. There was homework about every night and had to study a lot to do good on the tests. Not a class for slackers, but i enjoyed it overall. Good professor and good class!

By far the most boring class I have taken in a long time. Goes over the homework question for question, so there's no point doing the homework. No book. Easy grader, many take-home tests. Don't take this class if you don't want to fall asleep.

Very willing to help if you ask. I had no experience in physics and still got a B+. I thought he did a very good job explaining the info. He will keep you busy but by the end of the semester you will know the basics of physics. A good teacher if your haven't ever had physics and aren't lazy.

While everything posted about this guy is basically true, it should be pointed out that this Prof is quite generous with points and grading. One can do poorly on all tests and quizzes but still end the class with a good grade if they do decently on everything else such as homework or the take-home project. You may not learn much, but you'll pass.

LIFELESS class. Tends to ask mundane questions about the simplest concepts that a 1st grader would know, acts surprised no one answers, then breezes through his explanations for the abstract ones. Practically zero class interaction. The type of prof that understood Physics easily, I'd guess, and therefore concludes everyone else can too.
