I'll be honest--I didn't like Dr. Menegatos at first. I thought she was too strict with her criteria for speeches and gave too many reading assignments. As the semester went by, I found myself actually getting better at speaking. I realized she really knows what she's talking about and she cares about her students. You'll have to work hard for her.

Comment:

I took the health communication class and it was very enjoyable. There was quite a bit of work, but the topics were very interesting. Dr. Menegatos always gave good lectures and guided the discussion well so there weren't awkward silences. There were 2 tests, a 3-5 pg paper, a 6-8 pg paper, and a group project, all relating to the same topic.

If you want an A, get ready to spend hours upon hours practicing your speeches. Dr. M expects a huge amount of effort and near perfection. Study a lot for the midterm and final (they are easy if you study) so that you have some cushion. She grades on progress, so you HAVE to do better each time or your grade suffers. She doesn't give A's. So if you're really strong at speaking I suggest another because you'll need to show progress in the class. if you're prone to have speech stress she would be a wonderful teacher for you, but if you are like me and ok at speaking don't take her class. The only way to fix the non-A's is to ace the mid-term and final.

My favorite professor! She is such a great person, with a great sense of humor as well. She is very helpful, will tell you exactly how to get an A, and will develope your communication skills wether you try or not. Take her classes!

This class was amazing and most importantly, Dr. Menegatos was even more amazing! She always ties personal experiences into her lectures which makes learning the concepts in the textbook that much easier to understand. She always has us get into groups to do various activities, and the activities are always so much fun! 11/10

Dr. Menegatos is a great communications prof! I was terrified to take this class and by taking with her I ended up loving it! She's so sweet and so helpful when it comes to speeches.

GREAT teacher, she taught me LOTS about communication and I loved all her classes! Not much work to do, but make sure you read! The only downside was the expensive book, but after that, I will be using the lessons learned in this class for the rest of my life. Will be looking to take more classes with her in the future.

ALRIGHT SO, Four speeches with a rubric to reference. Small due dates before the speeches to help you prepare on time. Super easy midterm and final. Read the assigned text and participate or she will give pop quizzes. Honestly, my biggest respects for Menegatos. I hated public speaking, but her class provides amazing skills for life. I loved it.

Dr. Menegatos is THE BEST! She is very helpful. You can ask her anything & she'll help during class/office hours. She's 1 of the profs. who actually like what they do. She's strict, but is nice. Knows what she wants & will tell you. She has certain rules for class & if you follow them, you'll do great. Class is fun if you're with the right people.

Teaches class by the syllabus with specific requirements and due dates. She is reasonable if you approach her with your ducks in a row for what you need or want. Wouldn't recommend going into class thinking you're going to be successful without a little effort. Overall a good class and the final was just like the study guide provided.

Dr. Menegatos is so awesome! Public speaking has NEVER been my strong suit, but she definitely helps make it less frightening. She will make you work for your grade, but she offers all the feedback and resources needed to get you to an A. I highly recommend her, especially if you fear public speaking.

Very respectable professor; conducts class well and makes it interesting! She can be meticulous on grading, so make sure you're prepared on every speech. She will take major points off if you're late to class/don't follow directions, so be careful. If your 1st speech is bad, go to her office hours & see rubric on how to improve. Overall, love her!

This is a class that i actually enjoyed the final was exactly like the study guide that she gives you. just go over the reading before class and you need to actually try to do well otherwise she wants her students to actually improve in public speaking. not as scary as what people would expect this class to be. She is Great!!!

She is the nicest professor I ever had. She really cares about her students. I thought my exam was on Thursday when really it was on Tuesday. She was nice enough to email me half way through the exam to ask if everything was OK. This saved my grade and was able to make it just in time. The class is easy enough if you practice your speeches

I dreaded public speaking but I'm pleasantly surprised with this class. Dr. Menegatos is very clear with what she wants and doesn't try to scare students. She offers good feedback and areas for improvement. I don't feel intimidated to ask for help from her. Just make sure you read the textbook and have all assignments done and submitted on time
