Just genuinely a pretty weird dude. Reading assignments were always on really odd subjects and were often really outdated and made no sense. Have to be on time, starts class exactly on time every day and gets mad if you are a minute late. Tough grader, will tear your paper apart every chance he gets

If you've taken ANY high school English class that made you write papers, you'll be fine. I read the reviews on here before I met him, and most of them were inaccurate. He never mentioned being gay and i never picked up on it until he mentioned it. 7 papers with 2 in class and 4 reading quizzes and an oral presentation. It was really easy IMO :)

Professor Dandrigde is funny, he jokes sometimes. He can make the class interested. Unfortunately he is a tough grader. He is eventually is a rush to explain things and sometimes might not be receptive with students regarding the assignments and essays .He usually goes to his theatre job may assume you undertand the material .Gives second chances

Great professor! Between his humour and amazing singing voice, I thoroughly enjoyed having him as my professor. He's very entertaining, so the lectures are never boring and he goes over the answers for the quiz right after taking it so you'll know what answers you got wrong. Such a great teacher, I would definitely recommend him for students.

Yes, he assigns more writing than most comp teachers. But he tells you very specifically what he is looking for in each assignment, and if you don't get it right you have the opportunity to rewrite. There are a couple quizzes too, but if you read the assigned readings you're guaranteed to pass the quiz.

I HATE writing and was dreading taking this class for so long. Dandridge makes the class so engaging though that it is my favorite course this semester! He is very detailed about what he wants in a paper and at first I thought he went too deep into things like paragraph development. But, I was amazed how much it helped! Discussions are GREAT too!

If you need Dandridge, office hours are your best bet although he is often on campus very early. Decent grader, class was not very hard. Will test on readings that are assigned, about six times a semester. Can be hard to listen to sometimes, especially early in the morning.

Had him for ENG101. Is very clear on what he wants. Go to class or you'll miss out on a lot. He'll assign you readings and you will be quizzed on the readings next class, SO READ!. He gives good feedback on your papers and always leaves comments on them and tells you what you could've done better.

I honestly loved this class. Although there were many readings with quizzes they were straight forward and were easy to get a 100 with the extra credit.

I liked Professor Dandridge a lot. He really loves what he does and his lectures are very insightful. He's not to big on getting to know his students but is willing to help if you make the effort to go to him for it. His papers are fairly easy, usually just 2-3 pages. He's a tough grader though, so make sure to proofread your work. Take him!

He was a great teacher overall. He will have reading quizzes, but most of the questions are simple, like "What is the theme in article A". There are a LOT of writing assignments (5 out of class papers, 2 in class), which are basically safety nets in case you mess up on one. Every out of class paper can be rewritten for a higher grade.

I loved him. In the discussions he gave a lot of insight to situations that were very interesting. He admits he does better with an 8 am class then a 9:25 so try to take him earlier in the day rather than later. He'll make fun of you to your face which is what I loved about him.

Reading assignments are long and boring. After EVERY reading assignment, there is always a quiz. After each quiz, he basically spends the rest of the class time talking about it and asks "What did you think?" Very tough grader and sometimes unfair. Definitely one of my most "least-liked" teachers.

Least favorite class and professor at Hofstra! He's very intimidating, his classes are very boring. He's a VERY hard grader. He tends to jump back and forth between novel which could be confusing. He assigns a lot of long, hard, boring articles to read about sexuality, biology, and gender, then you take quizzes on them. The novels and plays he assigns are VERY weird and disturbing... I wish I knew the theme of his class before I took his class. I would NOT recommend him to anyone!

I liked him. He's a bit of a tough grader but he lets you redo the assignment if you meet with him to discuss it. 75% of your grade is the writing assignments (2 of which are in class) and then 12% participation and 12% quizzes on readings to boost your grade up. You really have to work for it, he won't take half fast done work.
