Lectures aren't great but she's willing to sit down & help you. Way too many assignments (4 per week minimum)/ expects it to be your #1 class (very overwhelming). Be prepared read and write papers. Touch grader->good feedback. Spent 6 hours on this class per week. Must attend speakers. Everything is on canvas. She's very helpful & a great resource.

DREADFUL! I hear good things about her, but my experiences/encounters with her have been disappointing to say the least. She makes up course expectations on the spot and after the fact, grades so slowly, and is ill-prepared even though this was her only class. I did not learn what I expected to, but is material we should know going into workforce

Dr. Finucane is a wonderful lady & awesome advisor, but an incredibly tough teacher/grader. She wants you to succeed, and her feedback is great, but it's like she expects this class to be your #1 focus. All papers averaged to about 20 pages and the final report at around 100. I feel like I learned a lot in this class, but don't expect an easy A.

Great Communications professor. But do NOT get her as a counselor. She is horrible and non-efficient!

Try to do your best and you'll get the grade you deserve. Study for the tests and ask for an extension if you will turn in a better paper because of it. She's extremely flexible and helpful.

Very nice lady outside of class. FYS with her is terrible tho. She is a VERY hard grader and in my opinion is very unfair. She seems very stubborn to me...once she makes up her mind about a grade/requirement for a project there is no stopping her. My favorite part of class is getting a rubric for a paper/project..when it gets HANDED BACK!?!?!?!?!?!

Awesome teacher. Very nice and homely. If I were to slip up and call a teacher mom, I would want her to be that teacher! Class is fun too! Invites everyone to her house for dinner!!!

Best teacher at John Carroll! So friendly and helpful, really willing to go the extra mile to help you out, especially with internship opportunities. She is the only professor I have had that has seemed truly passionate about helping her students for their lives after JCU.

Makes herself available to answer questions out side of class. Provides clear and concise answers to questions. Tests require application of material in book as opposed to regurgitation. Overall, good professor

Great professor. Very down to earth and easily approachable. She takes attendence every class and expects a lot of effort from her students. Her exams are o.k., just make sure to read the text.
