Dont listen to the other reviews! She is a great professor and if you put in the work, an A can easily be received. Tests are not that hard, and theres only 3, 5 minute presentations. Dont fool around and participate a little, and youll do great! Shes a gem

Teaches at Loyola now. If you haven't taken Spanish before, good luck. Is very disorganized, changes the syllabus multiple times, speaks fully in Spanish the entire class very quickly. I pretty much only learned how to teach myself Spanish.

Maria is the sweetest! She's super caring and understanding, but if you're having an issue, you NEED to let her know beforehand. Coming to class is important, even if you haven't done the readings. She helps explain the readings and even uses English sometimes if she realizes people aren't understanding her. I'd definitely recommend.

She teaches at Loyola University Chicago now. Great professor that cares about the course and her students. Very helpful with all the writing 270 focuses on. She is hard to contact outside of class and will not email you back. Talk to her in class or at office hours. I can't wait to take her again for 271.

I love her!!! She's now a professor at Loyola University Chicago, where I took her for a Spanish Lit class, and while I don't particularly love Spanish lit, she made it completely worthwhile. She is passionate about both her students and her work and makes a point to get to know you and help you.

I took her for UCLR 100 and would definitely take again. Class wasn't hard, the texts were interesting and honestly it wasn't boring. I'm a sciences double major and even I was interested in the content (Baroque period) of this class. Dr. Justiniano knows her stuff and does a great job getting others intrigued in the Baroque period.

If you've taken intro span classes, everything will be review... And thats great for those with a great grasp on basic spoken/written spanish. But if ur a native speaker who speaks fine but needs work on grammar, her class WONT help. Rarely taught us something new, its all speaking and writing about stories, so no help for heritage speakers.

Finally a professor who can relate to her students as well as demonstrate an honest appreciation for her subject. Read the material, talk in class, and you will get an A from her along with receive a solid semester of engaging coursework. It also helps that she is not bad looking by any means.

This professor has helped me with Spanish at GW tremendously. She willingly revised my papers on her own before I submitted them because I needed the extra help. Her exams are fair, and during class she'll keep you interested and laughing too. I'm not great with Spanish lit but she'll get you thinking as best you can.

Really sweet woman! Always smiles and easy to understand even with her Valencian accent. Her exams are fair and she encourages discussion. I am taking her for 54 currently and will take her again if possible. She's very helpful and willing to spend as much time as you need to discuss any problems. I HIGHLY recommend her.

she is approachable and always available for help. if you go to class and have a fairly good grasp on the readings, this class is a breeze. She also lets you rewrite papers and averages the grades. although the class does tend to get quiet when she asks questions, take the initiative to speak up. she (and your final grade) will appreciate it.

Justiano is very sweet, but is not very effective. The only speaking was reading the homework. My spoken spanish disappeared during her class because there was little incentive to speak (the entire class would sit silently when she asked questions) If you want a nice professor, take her. If you want to better your Spanish, take someone else.

She was very energetic and enthusiastic - also very sweet and approachable. Tests are usually a lot of writing, but they are for the whole Span department, so you can't avoid it. I would DEFINITELY recommend her for 108 - you will not be sorry.

As nice as she was it's still infuriating that after putting soo much effort into her class I still came out with something other than an A. She's a great teacher, but getting an A seems to be impossible.
