Yamamoto sensei is an amazing professor! She's always there for the students and will correct if you make a mistake but you'll never feel bad for saying or writing the wrong answer. Her class is always so much fun and you should always go to class because she sometimes teaches extra information just for fun! Fully recommend this professor!

Yamamoto Sensei is a good and kind person, but not a good professor. I'm completely baffled by the amount of positive reviews for her, as she is not very considerate of students with social anxiety, speech impediments, and the works. She will call on you, and you have to speak a language you barely know in front of the class. Do NOT take!

Yamamoto Sensei is the bee's knees. She makes learning a new language so easy. She is very understanding of things that come up in the students' lives and will work with you to make sure you are doing your best. There is homework every night and quizzes in class practically every day, but it really does help to learn the language.

The best language professor I've ever taken. The workload is a good pace. You will definitely need to stay on top of things but that's expected of any language course. Shes super sweet and always willing to help. Responds to emails quickly too.

I got a C- in this class. I don't know how but I did. I had a severe concussion due to an accident resulting in memory loss and was hospitalized for a third of the semester. She would not let me fail and did everything in her power to help me. EVERYTHING! I would recommend her class to anyone. She is a GODSENT.

Take Japanese with Yamamoto Sensei, she is easily the kindest teacher I have met in college! I've taken all the classes she offers. Easy test, quizzes often, but they are multiple choice. She will help you in anyway you need! extremely easy class, don't let that get in your way if you actually need to learn from this class.

Yamamoto sensei is very good at what she does. Funny, helpful, and cares more about the students individually than any other college professor I have had. Expect some homework and to study the course material, and passing is not an issue. Sensei is probably my favorite professor on campus, so if there you have any interest in Japanese, take her.

I don't know how anyone could give Yamamoto-sensei less than a perfect score. She was super helpful and knowledgeable, she doesnt judge you if you don't know something or have questions. She's proud of the work you do but there is consistent homework . Even though shes not strict, attendance is required because if you miss a day you wont catch up.

Yamamoto sensee is the best teacher I've ever had. She's so sweet and adorable that you gotta love her. Be ready to listen to her speaking Japanese most of the time. Have a quiz almost every class day with an extra credit. Class participation is highly recommended. You'll definitely pass if you do homeworkworkbook and study for the quizzestests.

Yamamoto is the sweetest professor I've had here. I took that class to fufil requirements for my major, now I'm a Japanese minor. The fast pace can be intimidating, and it's not a good idea to skip, but I would recommend this class to almost anyone. However, if you don't like interacting with classmates, this class is not for you.

I had Yamamoto-Sensei as a teacher for 3 full years of my college career, and now that I'm about to graduate I miss her classes. They were always a lot of fun. She has an amazing ability to engage with students, and make them care about the class. The community in the class was fun as well. I only wish she could reach more people with her kindness.

Yamamoto-Sensee is, as all the other raters have said, so much fun, and an incredible teacher. She has a real passion for teaching the class, and wants to see you succeed. Not spending a lot of time on the class (studying) will spell death for you, but otherwise it's a lot of fun! She's a wonderful and kind teacher.

She's adorable, like a cupcake. Also super perky and upbeat. Be sure to learn your hiragana and vocabulary really well! It gets difficult very quickly. If you only want to learn so you can understand anime better, be aware you'll have to work hard. That said, most people in the class are anime fans which made for a pretty hilarious atmosphere.
